5.7L TPI or just TPI emblem?

I figure I know where this discussion will go, but I just wanted to get everyones opinion...

My 91 z28 shipped with a 305, I swapped in a 350

What is everyones opinion on the rear emblem, mine is shot, falling apart, and must be replaced, and I considered replacing it with the one that says "5.7 Tuned Port Injection", vs replacing it with the one it has, just "Tuned Port Injection".

Since it IS a 5.7L now I thought I would replace it with that one...hoping the holes line up and all

You should put whatever you want on your car. There shouldn't be any holes to line up. It just sticks on the bumper.

the catch is: there aren't any rear holes to fill and your VIN number will always tell what engine came in the car. I would go for the 5.7 because that is what's in there, if it were me.

Re: 5.7L TPI or just TPI emblem?

ive got a 5.7 tpi decal for the rear bumper as well as for the rockers i will give ya if ya like. I got a complete kit for my car it came with both tpi and the 5.7 versions.
The tpi for the rear cover was the hard emblem the 5.7 for it and the rockers are just decals but look factory correct to me

They can't look correct if the rear bumper emblem says 5.7 in a decal. The entire 5.7 Tuned Port Injection emblem is a hard emblem.

If the car has a 5.7 in it now, put the 5.7 on it. If you plan on upgrading at some point to a 383, have a custom 6.2 decal or emblem made. Now the question comes in at is the 5.7 still running TPI? If not, I'd remove the emblem all together.

Do what you like !

My car is an '82, I run later year 5.0 liter H.O. Decals, engine is 6.3 liters

If its still TPI I'd say the 5.7 emblem

Thanks folks!

Yes the 5.7 is still TPI, and I do not plan on upgrading.

Re: 5.7L TPI or just TPI emblem?

Thanks Scott I didn't know that. The font is the same as the hard emblem so that's what I was thinking. I will post pics later if anyone wants them anyhow, I was going to throw them in the scrap pile with the other old stuff I have replaced

Re: 5.7L TPI or just TPI emblem?

My orignal "Tuned Port Injection" emblem fell off due to age.. So I replaced it with a reproduction "5.7 Tuned Port Injection" one from Classic Industries. I do have a 5.7 crate engine in my 1987 IROC-Z28.
