White 1991 Formula

Not gonna lie, kind of like this car (wonder why?). Half the mileage of mine, slightly better condition, and it looks like a 1SC car (mines a 1SB). It's like if eBay said "Hey, you like your wife, but how would you like your wife - but the way she was 20 years ago?" Weird.

It looks pretty clean and correct to me. Nice car for the money. Not sure I could dump the one I've had 18 years for a slightly nicer iteration. Besides, with mine I know all the flaws and what all has been modified and serviced, that has to count for something, right? With my luck, I should probably be careful. My Formula will hear I've been looking at another Formula, and the next time I go to drive her someplace, she'll refuse to start or something.

Re: White 1991 Formula

I inquired about this car a couple months ago, it is heavily undercoated, which for me was a deal killer.
But I agree, it looks like a good car for someone

Another nice car! Door decals seem a bit low but it is what it is.
I have a great idea for a non destructive to finish undercoating removal process. I've done a couple small samples and have had great results.

Would you share your undercoating removal process? I would like to try it.

Odorless Mineral Spirits, lots of rags + scrubbing works, but it'll take off factory overspray. Gunk Heavy Duty Gel will remove a lot of it too, works best if it's not too thick. The rubberized undercoating is pretty much permanent. Just in my experience...

White wasn't in my top five when I bought my Formula. Was trying pretty hard to pickup a black 89 Formula LB9/5spd with Ttops, but it had intermittent issues and the 91 I ended up buying a few months later would blow the doors off the 89. Still not a fan of white thirdgens even though I've had 3 of them, 4 if you count beige as 'off-white'.

Time to put some L98 3.23 geared, dual cat goodness in your signature! You don't know the power of the Pontiac side. I can't make any promises about this car, but mine was my first Pontiac, and I haven't looked at a Camaro the same way since.

Lots of actually... Like roll into the gas soft and burnout.

Re: White 1991 Formula

Really nice car! I wonder if I could get it for $4,500?? No? Darn. No place to park it anyway right now. Thank goodness my Formula doesn't have any undercoating on it, it's all natural underneath and clean! That car still has the little square (inspection??) thingy on the brake proportioning valve rubber cap like mine does. I hardly ever see those.

It requires very expensive equipment that I have borrowed from work. I normally wait for it to return from a job so I can play with it.
