1985 Red paint # 75 (WA 8537) only year?
Is this paint color for 1985 blaze red #75 (WA 8537) the only year it was used on a camaro or firebird between 1982 to 1992 or for any other year? Any paint experts out there? I'm trying to find out if it was specifically used for only one year 1985.

This is from the March-April 1992 Camaro Corral. It looks like paint code #75 came on 1982,83,84,85,90,91 and 1992. On IROC's, it came on 1985 and 1990.

Re: 1985 Red paint # 75 (WA 8537) only year?
Checking the Camaro info (don't have anything for Firebirds) that I have, I'd have to say yes, 1985 was the only year for Red #75(WA8537). It was only called Red, no sign of Blaze used anywhere. It was available on all Camaro models that year totalling 31,473 units. Not sure how many per model.
As mr396 pointed out above, code 75 was used for many (but not all) years. And it varied . . .
1982 - #75 Red
1983 - #75 Red
1984 - #75-WA7211 Red
1985 - #75-WA8537 Red
1986 - Nope
1987 - Nope
1988 - Nope
1989 - Nope
1990 - #75-WA9540 Dark Red Metallic (code #81-WA8774 took over as the brighter red for '90-'92)
1991 - #75-WA9540 Dark Red Metallic
1992 - #75-WA9239 Dark Red Metallic
What I'm interested in is there even a noticable (if any) difference in any of the red or bright reds throughout the years?

Check out this cool web site for paint codes I found. http://firebirdattitude.com/cgi-bin/...r=1985&rows=50
Here is another example. When Camaros and Firebirds first started they both used an (R) for the red paint code, the GM code for the shade of red was the same on both cars also (WA3595), but Camaros called the color (Bolero Red) and Firebirds called it (Regimental Red) even though they were the same color which was indicated by the (WA 3595) GM color shade code once again.
I always thought that Camaros and Firebirds in 1985 had a slightly different shade of red than other years. After checking all the years of Camaro's and Firebird's (WA paint numbers) I found that the only year (WA 8537) was used is 1985. Other shades of red were used for consecutive years. Some were also used for a while, dropped, then brought back again. This chart that mr396 found seems to be a good one for determining the true paint color with the (WA numbers) listed along with the RPO code numbers, GM paint names, GM models, and the years they were used. Thanks for finding it.
