Wanted: Burgandy interior plastics in good condition.
Wanted: Burgandy Interior Plastic parts in Good Condition. The burgandy color was unique to the 1982 models. The later model red and burgandy colors are not even close to this color. I have an 82 WS7 with 24 K actual miles that has some minor fading issues with the plastics in the rear of the car. The original owner's garage had a window in it, and guess what happened over 30 years of time? I am interested in purchasing any items in this color as long as they are in good solid condition with no scratches. What I don't need to make this car a 100 point car will go into storage for the future. gcsprayjr@msn.com Thanks, Charles

Sounds interesting. My door panels are perfect, but is will not hurt to have spares. The main things I can use are the plastic panels around the hatch area. Mine are very solid, but have some minor fading on them. Any pics? Are you willing to ship this stuff?
Thanks,
Charles

I didn't use the SEM brand,I'm not familiar with that brand, but 82tarecaro is,I'm pretty sure he used that brand on his Black plastics and he also used a co.called BAPS.I used the BAPS co.also for my Carmine Red RPO code 72I they did a good job of matching the GM color.
This paint is not cheap,I think I used just under 3 cans, but it is worth the money.

Thanks Dave,
I will e-mail you directly. It does not sound like any of that stuff will fix my current problem, however if it is in decent condition it will not hurt to have some spare stuff packed up. If you can send some pics that will be great!

Re: Wanted: Burgandy interior plastics in good condition.
I think that the chances of finding parts in better condition than the ones that I already have are going to be slim to none. Most parts are going to come from cars that have baked in the sun for 30 years. This car has some very minor fading from the sun shinning through a garage window over a long period of time. No heat damage, just some UV damage. If I posted pics, one may not be able to tell from the pictures that there is any fading. It is not bad at all, and for a driver would not need to be fixed. The car as it sits is a 95-96 point car out of a 100 point scale. There is no need to spend money to collect parts that need restoration more than the original pieces do. My best bet will be to restore what I already have. If someone has some near perfect or better maroon or burgundy interior parts that they wish to sell, feel free to contact me. For anything really nice I am willing to pay a fair price and shipping costs.
