Dashpad

Hi,
Will a 1988 Firebird dashpad fit into a 1992 Camaro. I know the speaker grills are different, but beside that are they the same and mount right in.

Thanks,
Alan

If the pad is non cracked you might as well buy it. Use it to barter for a Camaro one, or sell it, a good stock dash pad is getting harder to find.

Replace dashpad

Hey ThirdGen.org!! I am new to this site but I am very interested. My father and I are restoring an '83 Camaro and the dashpad is cracked on the driver side corner. I was just wondering if it is possible to replace the pad and how difficult it is. If you could reply back that would be much appreciated. Thanks

It has 4 long screws up just above the defrost vents, and a set of screws underneath the overhang the entire width of the dashpad. Remove all those, and the pad comes right off.

What he said, if you are doing a total resto, look for an 82-83 pad. The 84-92 pads are different because they will not have the double line on the front lip.
