Re: speakers in headrests
Some Fiero seats came like that stock... My college buddy had an 'office chair' he used with a Fiero seat and had 'surround sound' because of it... Just and idea.

Re: speakers in headrests
If you were going to do this, I'd imagine the best place for the speakers would be on the sides instead of head on. I say go the boneyard and get one head rest from a donor car and cut it open and check out the "mechanics" of it...what kind/size speakers would you put?

Re: speakers in headrests
hhmm... Try to see if you can acquire one to cut open... If there is some sort of inner bracket or support beam, you might be able to use that to anchor the speakers to. If not bracket, you might have to find some sort of pod or rather a trim ring and rivet it to the cloth...

Re: speakers in headrests
another thing i think that would be be cool is to have a separate volume control for the speakers in the headrest where as not to blow them when you have the volume turned all the way up on the stereo itself.

Re: speakers in headrests
My father has 2 miatas with these speakers, they were used a couple of years and there are quality replacements you could check out.
Like here :

And maybe check inside one to see how they fit in there, it's not -really- tricky, but the speakers position was not what i tought it would be to achieve good stereo sound.
Good luck !
