Engine: 350 4-Bolt Main

Transmission: Rebuilt 700R-4

Axle/Gears: 3:42

B&M megashifter for 86 camaro

well i got a B&M Megashifter for my car but i was wondering if yall could give me some pointers on how to install this kit. any advice on what to look for?and help would be greatly apprciated. thanks in advance!!

There should be an installation manual that came with it. If not you can get it online from B&M.

is this installation fairly simple? am i going to need the relay that they are talkin about in the instructions from radio shack for the neutral/park postion that locks out the converter clutch?

yes you need the relay cause it replaces the relay for the reverse/neutral safety switch. i put mine in around may so when you get it if you need help ask again. i may have a pic or two.

well you don't really need that relay. I installed the megashifter into my 92 about 8 months ago and hooked it up minus the relay"um was going to but forgot". Works fine just no nutral saftey switch but no probs

when i did mine, there was a lil orange wire and a big purple wire that hooked up, the relay (to the best of my understanding) is just a novelty item......why would you want to spend money on somthing you dont need........mine came with the two relays and wont crank in gear and has back up lights......what more could you ask for?..........i will say this........make damn sure you loop the cable like it says in the instructions, and when you get it installed it WILL be hard to shift from park to rev. its normal

I am swaping V8 with 700r4 into a car that had manual trans with a V6...
And I am installing a megashifter - was cooler option than buying an old, used stock shifter

I saw that there are some sort of cables going from trasmission to the steering wheel, which I dont have, do I need to buy it..?
Is it the same thing as this neutral safety that only alows me to start an engine on parking and neutral (i would like to have it)..?
And what is that relay about? Im a bit confused...
