145 mph gauges

Yeah, so today I got my gauges in the mail today. I bought them from my82roc, great seller btw... So anyways, I installed them in about an hour and a half, and man they look real nice. I will try and get pics of them tomorrow, I ran into a problem after I installed them however... I didn't check to see if the bulbs worked so I was missing like half the lighting, haha, so I had to take out and reinstall for a second time. No biggy, I took the bulbs off my old cluster. I just ordered the white glow gauges so those should look pretty nice.

Ok? Post up some pics. Did you originally have a cluster with a lower MPH Reading? If so, did it have to be recalibrated?

Usually that is the case, so yeah it would have to be relocated. Unless it came factory, but I'm almost sure they only went to 85 but i could be wrong.

Re: 145 mph gauges

I originally had a cluster that read 110, that had 72,000 miles on it. I got a 145 mph cluster with 83000, and no i didnt have to recalibrate anything, its all electronic. Here is the new cluster.

About as straightforward as the word "straightforward". Lol, no complications at all.

Re: 145 mph gauges

Be wary of the glow gauges. I had a set and it was a nightmare. They just kind of float over the needle, there is nothing to keep them securely fastened to the panel. Mine flopped around, I used some emblem tape but then they didn't sit flush. Ended up taking them off.

Re: 145 mph gauges

I dont know the exact year but any 90-92 145 cluster will work. Anything 82-89 will not because those years are cable driven. The 90-92 are electronic. Much better

Can you give tech details on changing the odometer out? I want to swap but have not found the 145 cluster yet. You are right tho, swaping is so easy. Thanks.

I recently swapped mine out on saturday, it went well it was easy. Just the part when you need to take off the knob for the head lights was a pain in the butt, but i got it figure out on how to take it off.
