hey guys have an 88 iroc vert that i just orderd door panels for from 1a auto they sent me a message saying that they thought it wouldn't fit my car right now i have the set with the diagonal divide on them which i like better all of the diagonal sets i've see say for 89 -92 i'm sure they will fit am i missing something here is my car supposed to have the straight line panels in it? the diagonal panels will work right? my old ones did... if the straight panels fit 86-92 y wouldn't one from 89-92 fit an 88 just not be correct due to the style
Re: 88 iroc door panels diagonal divide or straight
Diagonal Schmiagonal - I would think either panel will fit the same - doors didn't change, so shape is the same - personal preference as to which style. The ONLY difference I saw was the third hole at the armrest, but since trhe armrest covers it anyway, who cares?
What about window crank holes - do they all come with them? I see the hole on one, not on the other, but it is black - It'd be nice to know abount since I have electric windows, and may need new panels soon.
Re: 88 iroc door panels diagonal divide or straight
All camaro panels from 1982 through 1992 will fit any camaro in that same range of years. The differences only lie in the styling. The straight line style may be 'period correct' for the earlier year'd camaros, and the diagonal ones may be 'period correct' for the later years, but, you could just as easily put a door panel from an 82 camaro on a 92, as you could put a 92 door panel on an 82. They'll fit, it just depends on your preference.
Re: 88 iroc door panels diagonal divide or straight
I just got a reply back from the upholstery shop and was told,as far as they know that the amount of holes for the door pull were different.
The straight design had three near the bottom where the diagonal design has two.
I haven't messed around over here with any of these,so feel free to add to this if you guys have interchanged panels and what mods were needed to make the change.
Re: 88 iroc door panels diagonal divide or straight
I think the 89+ also have an extra metal bracket riveted or welded to the door. So if you put it on the straight style, you'll need that bracket or make one.
