what do these seat controls do?
Yeah I bought the car back in August and these buttons didn't work from the get-go so I have no idea as to what they're supposed to do. Do they usually fail?

Re: what do these seat controls do?
They control air pumps which pump up the side bolsters and lumbar, among i believe a few other things. Came on trans ams and GTA's. Could only be a failure of 3 things, fuse, switch, or air pump underneath.

Re: what do these seat controls do?
They look like they are out of a 4th gen car and they control the back support and side lumbar supports...basically they push out or pull in on your mid/lower back area and push in/pull out the sides that would push against your ribs. They may not work because they may not have been in your car factory or there is now wiring for it...if there is wiring under it and it is plugged in, try fuses, check wires for breaks, etc. Maybe a bad switch...etc.

Re: what do these seat controls do?
These are not 4th gen seats. They are GTA seats which were also available on T/As. Check the wiring connectors under the seat. Mine were corroded when I bought my car.

Re: what do these seat controls do?
Yeah those are definitely the original seats in my car. No way those are 4th gens. I'll check the connections like 88gta said as well as the fuses. And since we're on the topic of seats I have another question. Are the front seat backs supposed to tilt forward (like somebody getting in/out of the back seat) without hitting a lever? Since mine do. All I do is push it forward and it falls forward. But I noticed that when driving and I hit the brakes with the passenger seat empty, it goes forward about an inch and stops.

Re: what do these seat controls do?
No they should not fold forward without lifting the release lever. Sorry, I can't tell you how to fix that.

Re: what do these seat controls do?
There is only one pump(pass side) for both seats.Plus a single air hose to the driver seat. The pos/neg wires & fuse should be on the driver side harness.
Sometimes the contacts on the switches warp/bend/break.You should hear & feel it click when you press down. Not likely both would fail.If only the driver isnt working check the switch, but even so, its rare for the contacts to fail.So it could be any number of things.
I had the same issue with my old pass seat tilting forward when braking.I sprayed some lubricant into the recline mechanism right where the tilt lever is.Eventually the seat stop tilting forward. So i guess it took a while for the lubricant to work its way in.
