Ok so I've located that U shaped clip that holds my shifter in place but I cant for the life of me get it out, I tried snap ring pliers, regular pliers, and I attempted to jam a screwdriver in there to wedge it out, none of this worked, I was wondering if someone else has done something else to get it out... I'm thinking its just really worked in there tight anyone have any ideas?
Have you tried moving the shifter around to help loosen up the clip while you try to pull it out... maybe a small bit of WD40 could help too... also, shifting it into 1st will make it easier to get to.
well I moved it into first, I'll try wiggling it but if i remember from earlier I couldn't get it to even move the slightest bit, and I'll try the WD-40 thanks... I'll post if I get it off
ok well I got it out, after a 90* angled pick, a small screw driver, and snap ring pliers failed me I found a painters tool for opening paint cans and beer on the other side lol; it got it out first try, I also sprayed some losener stuff in there, cant remember what it was called but it smelled like oranges lol anyways I put a picture up so you can see and if anyone else runs into the problem of it being really stuck in there maybe this'll help.. thanks to everyone that suggested different things, dunno where I'd be without this board!
