Re: Best Appearance Mods
Also keep in mind that today, almost 20 years after the last Thirdgen rolled off the line, a nice clean stock (or almost stock) interior is pretty original looking. Don't get me wrong, I love custom, but I always shake my head at the guys who spend hours and hours on hand making custom parts, only to have ratty lookin' seats, or ragged out carpet. A lot of the go-fast guys just want to mod the engine and go fast, and don't care about appearance. That's fine. They know what they wanna do. But if you're gonna mod the interior, no reason to have old worn out seats and upholstery.

Re: Best Appearance Mods
My car was very low milage and 100% original so my "mods" were not all that intense but well worth it....

Re: Best Appearance Mods
Dash looks amazing!
IMO the best interior appearance mods have to be carpet and headliner if their worn out, then seats. Im in the process of fixing up my all grey interior with black carpet, black headliner, and black seats (4th gen) and for under 500$ spend it should look like new again...
I think the interior makes or breaks the car, even if the cars not 100% perfect on the outside a good interior can more than compensate I think, especially for the price

Re: Best Appearance Mods
I don't like to mod it at all, I think the stock interior is the best. Definitely hate 4th gen interior, very ugly like my moms 2003 pontiac grand am interior.

Re: Best Appearance Mods
i have a few custom mods im working on. there all on hold right now, but the winter time is when i do my left over project. so by next spring these should be 100% finish. first is my center console/ armrest delete
next is my fuel cell area
next is my daytona hood with molded aero scoop, and blister cutouts with plexiglass inserts
next is my custom molded front chin spoiler
next is my full fiberglass dashpad with no vents anywhere
thats it for now. i also have the hawks fiberglass notchback and auto meter full gauge setup in the cluster.

No cage, I run the stock seatbelts and they fit just fine.
A shifter from an 89 Cavalier will work as well....they look similar to the trans-am style

Re: Best Appearance Mods
Thanks....it's an inside joke with some members of the car club. Look great at night. You can get a disco ball from the dollar store, just look in the Christmas decorations section.

Re: Best Appearance Mods
Are you planning on rolling your car over? If so then the rollcage would be good, but if you're just gonna DD it then the racing seat would be fine. The only real reason I'd cage one of these cars as a DD would be to stiffen it up some but thats what SFC's are for.

Polished aluminum door sills
4th gen kick panels
4th gen door panels
red painted gauge rings
lt1 style center console
mba billet shift ****
early 3rd gen steering wheel
led map and cargo lights
blazer roof console
I'm currently working on covering the interior plastics and sun visors with some nice high grade vinyl. I got sick of my doors and kick panels and dash being dark and the rest being that light gray, but no pics of that yet. I only am about half done, and its slow going.

Re: Best Appearance Mods
I love Project-RS's pic of his fuel cell area becasue that is by far one of the best tools anybody can ever invest in. A SAWZ-ALL!!!! Anytime I'm working on the teardown part of a project or building custom subwoofer boxes I always find myself using it...
