GTA clock spring / cam

Hi everyone,

I have a GTA with radio controls on the steering wheel. I recently ran into a problem where my horn would turn on for no reason and the radio would act funny. Upon removal of the steering wheel I deduced that it has to be the cam and/or clock spring or the light receptors are messed up. Anyway- I can't find a new replacement anywhere- probably because I don't think anyone makes it. Also I refuse to put a cam/clock spring from a non steering wheel controls vehicle.

My question is - I know that 4th gen f-body steering columns are a direct replacement for ours- but if I take the internals with the air bag coil and all (even though I don't have an airbag) - will this fit into my stock 3rd gen column and is there anything besides the wiring and the cancel cam that I have to replace? -trying to avoid column replacement
