Nice man!!! Your set up is similar to mine...so Im hoping to be down there with you after I get some decent tires in the back. With Nitto street tires the previous owner took the 99 (donar car) down the track at 11.50 @ 115.

Thats with a dying auto, old heads and cam, and in a heavy vert. Now it has the better heads, bigger cam, a built t56 and my car is lighter.

I cant wait!!! Videos like this really get me pumped up to get my car done. That 4th gen (i think it was a 4th gen) didnt know what hit him in the first vid!

Similar setup? What you got? Mine is a iron block 402, 330cfm heads (2.08 valves) 250*+ cam, 90/90 setup, and all the other small stuff...

Doh... i forgot you have a different motor. I didnt even notice the "402" in the video title. haha. Thats what I get for trying to do my work and surf the forum at the same time Sorry about that. You used to have the regular LS1 346 block at one time right??? I could be mistaken though... I remember seeing your car awhile back. It was one of a few that really made me want to do the swap on my car.

My car is an 87. ARE forged block, MTI Stage 2 heads, Comp cam(can never remember the specs), double springs, fast 90/90, 3.73 gearing etc etc.

I remember seeing the vids of your car that you posted awhile back too. I think there are three or 4. Ones of you starting it in your garage, then a couple tearing down the street. Total motivation for me!!

Nice progress Jeremy.

Can't say I liked the song (overplayed in every car video), but the actual video itself was very nice, I love the sound as you hit the 1/8 mile mark, you can really hear the beast screaming.

Dude... what a disgrace

I think you started your first LS1 swap after I did and now your on your second engine already and I STILL have yet to get mine together GAH!

Sounds killer man nice work yet again. Nice job on that air intake elbow did you weld that up yourself?

What clutch are you running now? What are you going to put in?

Thanks for the compliments guys... I hope I give people on here some motivation! I didn't think I'd ever get mine done the first time. It took almost 2 years to get mine on the road from the time I bought the 4th gen donor car and finally fired mine up!

Old (current) clutch is a centerforce DF... ok clutch but not for what I'm trying to do. New one is gonna be a Textralia OZ700.. wicked clutch!

Yeah Textrilla is badd*ss no doubt about that. I'm trying the LS7 clutch I couldn't resist the price and would jizz my drawers to hit a mid 11 with my set up so it should hold okay. I really only plan a trip or two to the track just for bragging rights but the car was built for road course so I hope my Torsen T2R holds up to 6k clutch dumps on MT drag radials :P

Motivation? Yeah man the first time you did for me but this time your bumming me out LOL! Nah Jk next spring i'll be ready

Kudos again hope you hit low tens!

breakdown of the pass

1/8: 7.246

1/4: 11.232

Its an iron LQ9 402, not an aluminum LS2 402.

I'm anxious to see what it will do with a clutch in it. This thing drives so well its almost scary its this fast at the track. Stock springs and shitty KYB shocks too.

3rd gens are alot lighter than 4th gens. My GTA with the old motor (all aluminum LS1), with a T56, heavy moser 9", heavy LCA's, APHB, SFC's, and full weight other wise, it weighed a hair over 3200lbs with 1/8 tank of gas. A LS1 4th gen with those weight additions would easily weigh over 3500lbs. That's 300lbs and 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile right there

I'll have to get some more vids up. No more good runs this year... gonna have to wait until spring. I just got my new billet flywheel and Textralia clutch. I also got my tunnel mount Chris Alston tq arm today. Its getting those along with a spool this winter.... maybe a cage. I hope to be in the high/mid 10's next spring!

Nice... I always wondered about the weight issue too. These motors seem to rip in 3rd gens. My set up was running 11.50 @ 115ish in a 3800 lb 4th gen vert. SO it feels even alittle more fun in my car That time was before the current heads and cam package, and with a dieing A4. The car now has a built M6 in it. I want to get my car to a weigh station to see just how much it weighs.

Gotta take the wet carpet from the t-top leaks out though...probably save 50 lbs right there! Haha...

Thats awesome man, I just ran man this weekend and ran an 11.86 at 122MPH. Still cant get over that trap speed on a TR224 Cam only engine with all the bolt ons. I may start building me a 402 in the not to distant future.
