valve noise?
again, i'm working out the bugs on this '93 LT1. there is a noise comming from the passenger side valvetrain. also, the pass. side gets real hot, real quick. i'm mean, the pass. header is too hot to touch in under a minute, while the driver side header is still touchable.
this heat is causing everything to get hot...the valve cover gets too hot to touch for more than 1 second after some time ideling. the wires are getting hot that are between the valve cover and intake. the temp. is staying low and the fans are kicking on high.
the noise is hard to describe, but here it goes: its not a pinging. its not a ticking. its not a clicking. it kinda sounds like rhythmatic poofs of pressurized air. its hard to pinpoint since its running on no exhaust except for the headers and y-pipe. the rest of the exhaust is going to be on by saturday.

Re: valve noise?
never heard what a loose valve sounds like, but it would make since. i haven't taken the valve cover off yet...wanted to get opinions first, and let it cool down.

Re: valve noise?
Sounds like it might be an exhaust leak were the headers meets the cylinderhead. Look for blackining or see if you can't just feel the gases.
