LQ4 Thirdgen here I come.

Well guys I just got off the phone with the junkyard and I secured a 01 LQ4. I pick it up Friday. It will be getting a set of L92 heads and a cam from Synergy Motorsports. I can't wait to start the swap. I'll keep this thread updated with pics and info on the swap.

Well, so far I haven't heard of anyone who's done this swap who's been unhappy with it. Can't wait to get MINE going!!

Re: LQ4 Thirdgen here I come.

What bolts should I get for the engine stand to hold the Lq4?

Well, if it uses the same bolts as my L92 (& I can't imagine that it wouldn't), you'll want to get 3/8" x 16. I bought them in the 2-1/2" length, & they look like they're going to work just fine (going to borrow my buddy's cherry picker in the morning, & then I'll know for sure).

FWIW, your timing is really good, I just bought them earlier today...

no, the 3/8 fit, but are not the right ones. they can pull threads out if they are tightened enough. the correct bolts are 10X1.5 metric.

Re: LQ4 Thirdgen here I come.

The engine is already on the engine stand using the 10X1.5mm bolts. Thank you though. The engine would be in by now but I still don't have a job so money is tight.
