engine finally running but????
ok so I finally got my LSX swap running, but like most of everybody problems on here, it shuts off after like three seconds..meaning theres a problem in the vats department..so this is how I have everything setup, i got a full pullout from a 98 camaro..I got the entire wiring harness for the car, including the body control module..so what I decided to do was get a key it the same resistance as the new LSX..so i found the wires comming out of the ignition switch and wired them to the new bcm..so this setup should work right??just wondering if anyone else has done the swap like me with success..any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks

Re: engine finally running but????
are you trying to keep vats because you want? If not, since its an fbody harness you can build or buy a vats bypass box that you wire into the harness that acts like the bcm sending the "everything is ok to start" signal to the computer. Also if you have tuning software or are planning to get tuned, it can be disabled at the bios level so that its never an issue again.

General Rule of thumb, when doing a swap, and you want it to run like factory, its not going to be cheap.

Re: engine finally running but????
if your using the full harness and bcm out of the 98 car, all you need is a key with the correct resistance to match the key from the 98 car and you will be fine.
