LS1 vs. LS6 Injectors

I have a 2000 SS LS1/T56 that I'm (slowly) installing in Berlinetta #2. I originally installed an LS6 intake with the stock 2000 injectors and TB.

I've since picked up another "take off" LS6 intake with injectors and TB. I assume it was a crate engine that was upgraded (don't know much more beyond that). Question is what injectors might these be? I haven't looked for identifying #'s on the injectors (the intake and all are in a storage unit right now), but could look for them if that's the only way to know.

I'm assuming they're bigger than the LS1 injectors, and would be preferred. The engine is otherwise stock with Hawks/SSW long tubes, EGR/A.I.R. delete, etc.

Re: LS1 vs. LS6 Injectors

I think the injectors can be the same as the LS1 injectors, or they can be the other ones that started in the later years. You gotta check the part number on the injectors to be sure. Here are some part numbers that I had copied a while back. Not sure how valid they still are, but might help you figure out which ones you have.

LS1 fuel injector (98) = 12533952
LS1 fuel injector (99-00) = 12456154
LS1/LS6 fuel injector (01) = 12482704
LS1/LS6 fuel injector (02, at 28#; used in Corvette Z06) = 12561462
LS1/LS6 fuel injector from C5R racecar (42# at LS1/LS6 58psi pressure) =24508208

Obviously you wont have the 98, 99-00 or the C5R injectors. But depending what the intake came out of, who knows. Im gonna guess they are 12482704's.

Re: LS1 vs. LS6 Injectors

I'm not sure why the part numbers are different, because aren't the 99+ LS1 and the LS6 injectors both 28lbs anyways? The only ones with 26lbs were '98 LS1's correct?

From my searches:

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/lt...w-ratings.html (LS1 Injector Flow Ratings) (now a sticky)

"Good job and excellent data. I want to point out that the LS1 Camaros (I have a '99 SS) came with two different flow rates.
"The '98, '01, and '02 LS1 Camaros came with the 28.x lb/hr injectors, while the '99 and '00s came with the 26.x injectors.
"These values are measured at 58psi (4 bars)."

From http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/fuelin...injectors.html (28 lb injectors):

"Actually there are three part numbers:

GMP-12554271 - 97-98
GMP-12561462 - 01-04
GMP-12482704 - 01-04"

Re: LS1 vs. LS6 Injectors

The part numbers are going to change just because newer parts come in, and the numbers get superceeded and what not.

Mid line changes...etc etc.
