Is that the same streight 6 they put in the Supra? Those things were BA. My dad saw one racing an early modle viper (back when they ONLY had 400hp and 450lb tq). The Viper was clearly winning but the supra wasn't far behind.

its in a silvia. car used to run high 9's/ low 10's i believe. its a ex local street racing car thats been sitting at my old job. the guy that owns it is the same guy that bought my 91z. were tryin to decide what to do with it, sell it or part it out. the hood, trunk, and fenders are single layer carbon fiber that you can see through.

I love Silvias. This is the least attractive generation though. I think they only exported two generations to the United States. And neither of them were the good ones haha.

well found out the guy couldnt find the parts to rebuild my turbo. i have no money unless my fiero sells but its not lookin good on that thing selling anytime soon. so i might just be parting out all the turbo stuff and goin with just a cammed 4.8l.

Re: My turbo 4.8l 87 IROC build
Yeah still have it but wont be worth putting it on.
Dont feel like dealing with the turbo nonsense. Especially since i was mostly doin this for show. I dont drive fast and dont care about racing.
I just wanna drive the car. Could have had it painted and everything already.
Plus i have a feeling that when i go to have it tuned its goin to be nothing but problems and i cant afford that nonsense.

If your going to go with the n/a route, are you still planning on keeping the 4.8? Or maybe upgrade to a 5.3 or 6.0?
And like i said dude its ashame. Id do what youd really want. You still have another third gen to drive
out of curiousity, how much would you sell the turbo stuff for?

Re: My turbo 4.8l 87 IROC build
depending on what size cam i can put in the 4.8 and still make decent power i might keep it. if i cant go to big i might go 5.3 or 6.0. havent thought of a price at the moment but what parts are you interested in?
id like to see it go on someones car that i can see updates on instead of putting it on ebay or craigslist.
if i sell this stuff ill probably be selling the whole hotside, the intake manifold setup and cold side. if you were local id sell the whole exhaust all the way to the bacl of the car if interested.

Re: My turbo 4.8l 87 IROC build
Aww man!
I was hoping you would get it done. I built myself a turbo z, got it running and then parted it. I regret it. But if ur hearts not in it. It wont be fun. Ur gonna start looking at it like a chore. And when it comes to that. Its all downhill.
I was gonna turbo my ws6, but i hate fmic in 4th gen ta's. Just cant cut up my bumper, lose my fog lights or bird plate.
I want to build me a radical iroc z that looks stock.
Im hunting for a solid strait body now.
Nothing like sneaking up on fools in a turbo ls 3rd gen
Ive been seeing alot of new 5.0s and 5th gens lately.
Ps.
I am completely set on same gages as yours.
Pm link plz

Re: My turbo 4.8l 87 IROC build
right now i feel its just too much hassle for me and sinc ei havent gotten to really drive this car since i previously owned it back in 04-05 i just wanna clean it up paint it and have it running good n/a with no hassles. its funny cause out of the 3.5 cars i own my 91z seems to have been the most reliable and fuel efficient. since i cant afford the good turbo stuff its just goin to be nothing but problems with the cheap stuff.
heres my set:

Re: My turbo 4.8l 87 IROC build
I'm a bit sad to see you let go of this, but I totally sympathize. It's tough having a non-runner. Better to have a running 300-HP 5.3 than a non-running 1200-HP twin-T76 4.8L. I'd do a Comp 54-455-11 in the 4.8, add headers, then add nitrous. These can all be swapped to a 6.0 later, and will get you 600 HP right away. If 4L60E, then forget the nitrous, order a custom cam with Comp's 3707 lobe for intake and exhaust 110 lobe sep. Also a 2400+ converter, and 3.73:1 gears to make it jump.
