Hi Guys! I'm getting ready to purchase my fuel lines, pump, and regulator for my LS1 swap. I'm planning to utilize the Corvette regulator setup exactly as described in this thread: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/ltx-...-tank-ls1.html

Here's my question: If the Corvette regulator is mounted in the rear under the fuel tank as I assume it is designed for, wouldn't the fuel pressure suffer somewhat at the motor compared to having the regulator located in the engine bay? The "regulated" fuel has to travel like 12 ft as opposed to like 1 ft. I'm just a bit worried that on a quarter mile blast with a high HP engine, that it may starve for fuel.

This setup must work very well because the corvette's come from the factory with it and a lot of people are utilizing it. It's just something I was pondering. I apologize for my ignorance, I just want to understand it better. Thanks in advance for the responses!!

The entire volume of fluid stays pressurized. Much the same way hydraulic brake systems work. The calipers don't see any less pressure than is applied at the master cylinder unless something flexes/bulges in the system.

Yes, you answered your own question. What size injectors are you using?

A fluid won't flow unless there is pressure difference from one end of the line to the other. There will be pressure drop across the whole line when engine running. As long as the fuel pump can keep up and fuel lines are of sufficient size, then you should be fine.

its more than adequate for most basic and mild build lsx swaps. its when you start running higher horsepower levels that people look into doing a more complex fuel system to keep up with fuel demand.

what power levels are you planning on building for?

Thanks guys for your responses. My plan is an LS1 with either TSP LS6 stage 2.5 or 5.3 stage 2.5 Heads (not sure which yet, ordering cam and heads later in the week) MS3 cam or close, Fast 90/90. I'm hoping to be near the 450 rwhp mark. I haven't researched injector size yet, but I'm thinking 42 lb maybe? I figured that fuel line setup would probably be allright for me, but I guess that I see most regulators mounted up front near the engine. I thought about trying to keep the option of nitrous open, but honestly I doubt I'd ever install it. Ohh and I was planning on using 6AN.
