It should fit, depending upon the mounts you use and where they locate the engine/tranny.

I used neutral location adapter plates for the front, and Hawks crossmember for the rear. The biggest problem I had was finding it in the storage unit after putting the engine/trans in there in December, and not getting around to installing it until August.

Your 700r4 dipstick will look the best in the engine bay. The hold down will not reach a bolt though, so you'll have to figure out a mount. I used a conduit clamp on the rear of the cyl head

The fbody ls1 4l60e dipstick fits, but was designed to go under the long cowl 4th gens had. It looks bad. Trucks equipped with the 4l60e look better

Looks - doesn't matter to me if it works. I'll take looking bad over rigging up something.

Re: ls 1 trans dipstick in iroc z

I tried the 700r and 4l60e on mine and didn't like the look. Ended up with a Lokar flexible tube and couldn't be happier.

For whatever reason, I don't have a good picture of the 4th gen tranny dipstick, but here are what I do have.

Obviously, I'm a function-over-form guy (someday I'll get around to relocating the PCM, but that will be after the LS 403/4L80E in the '57 is running). But, I don't see what the issue is with the way this dipstick "looks".

Re: ls 1 trans dipstick in iroc z

I think either looks fine, haven't seen the lokar one though. I had a heck of a time installing the 4th gen dipstick with the motor and trans already in the car though. Took me forever lol

I'm pretty sure it was TD-34L60EFM , but might be TD-34L60FM. I can get some pics if you're intersted.

Re: ls 1 trans dipstick in iroc z

I used the 700R4 tube and it was tricky. You have to trim the bracket a hair to clear the ribs in the bell housing and like stated earlier, the bracket does not realy have a place to bolt it to. I used the hole in the trans and braced a nut in it with a roll pin to secure it. (pic). Also With my set up there is no R&I of the tube with the eng. and trans installed. I have to pull the trans to get the tube in or out. BUT IT WORKS

This is only $36.99, and looks just like the lokar one. Just ordered it and should get here in a few days.
