$500 IROC build pictures
My 1987 IROC that i got basically for 500 bucks. I sold my 94 LT1 6 speed Z28 for 5500 plus the IROC, and i was asking 6k for it 94. Its an LB9 T5 IROC with some light front end damage and alot of wiring is cobbled together. I pulled the motor and tranny regasketed the motor, replaced the clutch and put some 1997 Firebird seats in it. so far its a pretty fun car, i hate to say it but i like the IROC a little better than the 94 Z.

Pretty Nice. I've always wanted an IROC. Why would you hate to so that you Like the IROC more than the 94 Z? No Shame in Liking something that was built better. Anyways, Good luck on it, keep the legend alive!

Re: $500 IROC build pictures
This reminds me of my car that I'm doing right now. only difference so far that i see is I'm converting my black 85 to TPI and I have the front end off for some rust repair.
Looks like you took pics of mine. Though I don't have the luxuary of a concrete floor.
Have fun!!

Re: $500 IROC build pictures
it was bad for me because im only 20 years old and i have had a speeding ticket. that wasnt the real reason i sold it, the real reason i sold it was for the future speeding tickets i would have gotten with it. i had it insured as a casual driver for only 15000 miles, i already 12000 miles in 3 months so it had to go for several reasons. i fell into a sweet deal on the IROC tho.

Re: $500 IROC build pictures
i've pretty much done the exact same thing that you're doing with my 86 iroc i think its weird how when the front end is off it kinda looks like the new mustang.... in other words.... ford sucks and has to copy us camaro guys.

Re: $500 IROC build pictures
Weinz, nice look'n project you've got there. From the one pic it looks like there was a nasty front impact unless you beat the bracket to look like that. Secondly did you use a flex agent in your priming of the new pieces? The nose and front gfx will crack like crazy if you didn't (the primer and paint that is) I'll be getting some parts that are going to end up that same color after some sanding. I can't wait to get my grubby hands on them so I can start work on the front of my car.

Re: $500 IROC build pictures
i sold the car a week ago for 1100. i had to get rid of it because i bought a 96 z28 6 speed, but dont worry i will get another third gen in the future. the 87 just had way to many problems, rust and wiring mainly and the tranny was cracked. i would rather have a hot rod carbed third gen anyway, and the 96 is going to be a daily driver.
