pictures before the track 11.8@116

finally got down to the track this year. my bottle was freezing so i didnt get my full blast of the 75 shot. i ran 11.70's last year on an untuned motor. maybe ill get back down there and get some better times. heres pics of it on my trailer. my friend's got videos of me racing. as soon as i get them ill post them up. oh yeah, and i put drop/drag springs on it. dropped the front end about 2 inches and when i take off i stare at the sky. just ordered 4 new adjustable drag shocks from summit. still waiting on them.

are those 26" front tires? if so how are you evening getting it up the trailer with the tires tucked up that much. Mine drags the chin spoiler and I built extra wooden ramps to help the approach angles.

yeah, they are 26's. I got it up on there fine before the track, but loading it up down in the pits I hit hard. Took off a half dollar size spot of paint on my front ground fx. I'm pretty pisse about that. My metal ramps are about 7 feet long so that helps, but I plan on rigging up some wood ones to aid in the effort.

I really like the color... Mind telling us what it is called? Very nice car. If it weren't for the slicks, it would be a nice sleeper.

Re: pictures before the track 11.8@116

thanks for compliments. as for the color, the base is vette black, with a red pearl coat. depending on the amount of light hitting it, the color can change quite a bit. at night it looks black, at dusk it looks black cherry, in the light its a purple tone.

The slicks are just for the track. I have run regular tires with my betters wheels on the street. I think the Hoosiers are great. Then again I've never ran anything different before. This is my first pair of slicks (dont race much). They wear great for being a softer compound. I only have prolly six burnouts and 1/4 miles on them though. They hook very well. Last week I pulled a 1.65 60' when I ran the 11.8X. Which is cool, cuz when I ran my 11.7X last year I pulled a 2.0 60 foot. So I guess I got a little more I can squeeze out of it ET wise. I just got 4 new adjustable drag shocks so maybe I will get a further improvement.

As far as mods, I dont really feel like listing all of them. I could sit here thinking about all the crap I've done to it for hours. But I bought the car as a shell with just a 5 speed hangin underneath. After that blew, I went thru two 4 speeds before converting to a TH-350 auto. I built the motor the first time back when I was 17. After a oil pump fail and a big boom last summer, I rebuilt it, better. It's a 350 4 bolt main bored 30 over. Dart Iron Eagle heads, 11:1 compression pistons, comp cam, weind intake, Holley 750 double pumper with all the tricks, shortie headers w/true duals exiting the sides, MSD Digital 6AL Plus, Blaster coil. I run nitrous at the track. The 11.8 was on a 75 shot. The rear is the stock Z28 10 bolt, except for the set of 4.10's I put in. The paint was done 2 years ago by me and my brother. I prepped it, he shot it.
