stage20, that's beautiful man. The 4thgen dash install, centerconsole, seats, roll bar....THEN you have pics of that sweet **** engine. Great job man. Where do you run it? I was just in Orlando for a long weekend and passed by a track out near Bithlo (in between Cocoa and Orlando).

kevin at kirkey.
i had to persuede him nicely. they arent in the custom seat cover business.
they actually do a bunch of stuff by hand. no fancy stuff. way he talked its just him and a sewing machine.
there are a few things id change if i did them over, but he did an excellent job for talking with him over the phone.
nice not to have the big ugly logo on there, respectfully to them.
he sent me extra stickers in the package. was it a hint?? LOL.

Thanks for the info. I really like the pattern on your seat covers better than anything I have seen thus far custom made for a Kirkey seat.
So, is this going to be an all N/A effort, or are you going to spray a plate or fogger system in the future? I can see you running some real serious times with a nice little 200 or 250 fogger setup. Nice to see your still rowing gears also.

its more of an n/a setup, but i have a nitrous kit on the car. the plate wouldnt clear my ss hood with the super victor, so im not sure what im going to do at the moment.
new hood, scoop on this hood, plumb the intake or maybe even drop the motor in the car a lil bit. i still have some clearance between the oil pan and k member, so i could let it down a bit and make room for a plate.
the car is actually an auto.
its a modified ratchet shifter and chopped up 6 spd stick.

Im not a Camaro Fan but I love everything about your car. You should be very proud of that car. I know I would be. I cant wait to get mine done.
Iv got a question or two about the LS. Now one day my new engine is ganna go..its not if its when..thats just any motor that you race..but I have thought about doing a Carb LSX..is there a lot of wiring still or pretty much like an old school carb with just coil packs?
BTW Very Nice, Very Tasteful!!

Re: 408/rollbar project finally done!
the carb setup is very simple.
you need the coil packs, and coil pack wiring for the coils themselves.
crank sensor, and a cam sensor. the map sensor is optional, but helps with drivability.
other than that, the msd box comes with a harness. all you will need.
plugs right into the coils, crank and cam sensor.
even the tach lead is std v8 signal, so you dont need anything special but some metric adapters to run your gauges.

Re: 408/rollbar project finally done!
you can have a heads cam 6.0 with over 500 at the flywheel.
ive never ran the 1/4 mile, so i dont know any other way to test the efficiency of my converter, but id guess my 408 is making 620-635 at the flywheel.
my stock cammed 6.0 put down 383. thats getting real close to 500 there.

Re: 408/rollbar project finally done!
No arguement there. I have a pro-drag in the 'maro and it's just hard to tell from those pics whether or not those had more padding(the only real difference between the street and drag version). - I must say, I could drive all day in the seat that's in the camaro. If you get the angle right so that it supports your legs porperly, they're every bit as comfortable as a full street type seat, just not quite as easy to get in and out of.

i sat in a few cars that felt like i was hitting the brakes about to slide out of the seat.
just all wrong.
i played with mine for an hour till it felt right.
pissed my buddy off that was over helping me weld it up.
haha.

Re: 408/rollbar project finally done!
it looks sick in there. much better than a big hole in the back of the car.
im not exactly sure what it weighs right now.
ive got the backseat in, dropped 5 pounds of metal, 12 in a driveshaft, 9 in the rearend.....ive changed a few other things as well.
at the time, the car scaled 3048. im 250.
hoping to be under 3000 pounds now and im down to 239.
i have yet to put the aluminum bumper support in the front of the car. i dont know what the steel one weighs. ive seen 25-37 pounds.
this aluminum one is 18, so ill at least lose a lil.

Very nice build!
Few questions though...
1st, why did you opt for the carb vs. keeping it fuel injected?
2nd, what headers are you running?
3rd, modified stock K, or tube K?

Re: 408/rollbar project finally done!
im running the hawks swap headers. id like a money tree to fall on me so i can build me a custom set with larger primaries. i think there are a few hp left in there.
its a pa k member with small block chevy motor mount stands.
i reused my sbc solid mounts when i put the 6.0 in.
pretty much bolted them in the car, then dropped the motor in with plates on the block and tack welded them in place.
i get creative sometimes.
thanks for the comments.

15x8.25 5" backspacing.
in the pics above are 275/60 hoosier radials, but ive since stepped up to a 295/65 radial to fill up the wheelwell.
