1992 As new .
Got home with my dads 1992 Camaro RS heritage edition convertible,
Tonite , Tucked her in to her new garage and can't wait till i can give her a bath , And detail job.
It's my 1st Camaro and i hope you guys can answer some of the many things i will want to know.
It was a pleasure of a drive frome Dunedin Fl. To Streamwood Il.
Felt like a new car , tight and sturdy, Not quick with the 305 , But seemed to move pretty fast from 60 + .
I have all original docs. , Window sticker , Bill of sale , All books , And even the sealed cass. tape that came with the car. It is a time capsule , And my dad did a hellva job keeping her this nice for 20 years , Now i hope i get 20 years with it !

I wish it had the red or black leather. I'ts got the grey cloth
I did that GM vin decoder , And swaped around some of the RPO's that i thought would make it a rare car , The lowest # i could get it down to was 1 of 6 cars lol , I'm sure that can't be accurate.

Re: 1992 As new .
It's still a very rare car... iirc only 1274 verts in 1992, and even less heritage cars. My z28 heritage is one of 208, and that's before breaking down paint/interior combos... could be less than twenty with the Black on red.
Such a nice car. Might post a pic or two in the history and convertible pages here.

Sweet . I plan on doing a clay bar this weekend , Then it will shine , I did a test spot on the trunk lid , And the paint can be cleaned up alot .
Red with red might be to much , Now that you mention it . I'm fine with the grey.

Re: 1992 As new .
Your welcome! Guessing the heater core must leak. That sucks man. Its a PITA. If it is you might look into some of GM cooling system sealer tablets. They work great.

Re: 1992 As new .
Just fix the heater core correctly and it won't be a future issue. The new heater core is cheap and it's only time consuming to get it replaced. Do it yourself, enjoy the project, learn about the car and have heat without worrying that it might blow up and leak all over the carpet.

Yep , No hurry now . Not a winter car and the weathers been changing already . I'll probally wait a bit . Focusing on the paint right now , Car was not waxed once , It had a gallon of teflon applied when new. But i will do the heater core , Now that i know it can be done without removing the dash .

Re: 1992 As new .
Looks identical to mine. I've got the owners manual but am missing the convertible supplement. I've searched and searched to no avail. I tried Helm but they do not have them. If I were you I would not part with it if you have it but I'd be more than happy to pay for a copy of it. Either way, its a great looking car, enjoy it. I really like mine, it would be nice if it had about 50 more horses under the hood but then do I really need to go that fast, no. Tickets are a waste of money.

Re: 1992 As new .
Damn you got it all! LOL I wasn't saying the tablets would be a wise permanent repair for the leaking heater core, but might buy you time. They were designed as a service bulletin repair for the leaky cadillac head gaskets. They solved my heater core leak until I was ready to replace the heater core. Replacement is always the best especially as nice as your car is.

BADNBLK , Fagetaboutit ! The lines were by passed years ago , And my dad never had it fixed , Because he did'nt trust anyone to remove the dash , And not crack or damage it . If it just happen , I would try the tabs in a heartbeat to get some temporary heat . I will do it next spring , Or over the winter if its another mild one here . Cheers !
