Spiral flows, eh? Don't know that I'd ever heard them before, that I was aware of. Sounds healthy!

Re: My 86 sport coupe build (pic heavy)
Got 2 warm days in early Feburary! I decided to get outside and go on a cleaning spree. She got a bath, waxed, engine bay cleaned, tailights polished again and the interior completely cleaned. A full detail in other words. Great way to spend a weekend!

Thank you. I appreciate your support.
We made it into the mid 30s this weekend, and melted a little snow, but no where near all of it.

Re: My 86 sport coupe build (pic heavy)
Thanks guys! Whew, I just decided to go through this entire thread replacing pics that had gone dead, took forever! Anyways, 383 update. Rotating assembly is just about ready to go to the machine shop to be balanced! Reground 400 crank, stock 350 mains, .010 under rods. Rods are reconditioned "X" rods with sps bolts, then pistons are a custom forged very slight dish. Measured in at 6cc's, may have to put valve reliefs in them, will have to mock them up and check clearances. Then after that off to be balanced.

Saw this clean 92 z28 vert at a dealer yesterday. Not a fan of the 2 tone and wheels, but a nice car nonetheless

Re: My 86 sport coupe build (pic heavy)
At least whomever buys the convertible, can easily remove the black pieces and take them to a paint shop to match the body's existing color. Now if the body was two tone, then I would pass. The wheels I would put up for sale and get some Ronal Firehawks or the regular 16" wheels.

Re: My 86 sport coupe build (pic heavy)
Zach I want that shifter **** from you! I cant seem to find one around me in the yards. I want to put a push button switch in it for an incognito switch for my linelock. I don't want to ruin the one that I have or change my mind after I've already drilled it. Question for you though, how hard was it to install your 1 DIN radio? I want to swap mine with my Pioneer deck from my old car. Did you notice a difference in your FM reception with your stock antenna from the stock radio?

Re: My 86 sport coupe build (pic heavy)
Thanks for the kind words guys! I plan on keeping the stock shifter for awhile. Replacing the radio was super easy. Just got an adapter kit and correct harness, took all of 20 minutes to do everything. Massive improvement as my stock radio had some issues

Re: My 86 sport coupe build (pic heavy)
Hey everyone, I'm still around. I've just been pretty busy lately. Progress on the car has been slow, but I've still been doing a bit of work. A lot of stuff will be happening soon, the car will make a big comeback this year. First up is the trans, another 700r, but with a transgo shift kit and a 3,200 stall. She's pretty much ready to go. The specs of the 383 have been finalized, and the remaining parts have been bought. Just need time to get going on mockup / assembly. I also picked up a 91 z28 for some parts, so a new rear is in order as well. 92 10 bolt with a posi and 3.42 gears. It'll live for a little while. Hoping to have the car done by the GM nationals this year. At the very least it will have the new trans and rear end. So keep an eye out on this thread

Re: My 86 sport coupe build (pic heavy)
Here's the 383 specs. 10.5:1, still using the ground 400 crank and X rods, but the Pistons have changed to a bigger dish to keep compression down. Ported eddy aluminum heads, custom ground comp cam (238/242 @ .050, 108 lsa .528/.534 lift) crane roller rockers, rpm intake, 650dp, headman long tubes. I hope to make around 450hp. Nothing crazy, should drive nice since it's still a daily. (Hence the reason for 3.42's) stall is a little small as well, but I got a killer deal on it. The 108lsa will help with that a little
