Gun metal grey GTA? Oh yeah. Lots of pictures and a sweet story? Oh yeah
Sooooooo this might be kind of long and I'm gonnan post tons of pictures and tell a tale of a childhood dream brought back to life.I'm 21 and when I was a kid we had a 89 GTA that we drove all over from fl to Canada . I love that car but it was a 305 that had been wrecked in the front.
That's my little brother and sisters under there helping with whatever he was doing. We went camping and I learned what kind of music I like in that car. Needless to say it had a lot of sentimental value. Well when my brother turned 16 he got the GTA and was driving for awhile and then this happened.

Burnt to the ground Lost it all , he pulled over because it was overheating and there was grass or something and all the sudden there were flames coming from the bottom. And it was over before we knew what happened. Got like 200 bucks for the scrap but that's it. So we've have a few fourth gens and a few third gens I have a 92 camaro rs that was a v6 with a 350 in it but it's a total piece. It has potential but it isn't what I wanted. So I've been looking all over for another GTA but I just didn't want one with a 305 or a white one or burgundy. Nice cars and colors but not my style. Well yesterday I drove out to Sarasota and picked my 1989 gun metal grey GTA with a 107 thousand on the body and a completely rebuilt 350 that hasn't even been oiled yet. The body is mint the interior is gorgeous. The dash isn't cracked the aren't torn. Bt paint has the normal clear coat fading that our old one had and his dogs scratched up the paint and tore the emblems off but I do have them. Never been wrecked the hood hatch and dash vin all match. The wheel hub covers all say ws6 it's like seeing a ghost. Now to what everyone wants. Pictures! And more to come once I clean it up nicely. Just wanted to share my story hope you enjoyed it.
Plans are for long tubes and the wrap around wing from hawks and repaint it. Tint the windows and just drive the **** out of it. Thanks guys!

Ya there is something about the color and body style I love them.
And projectrs definitely pull those up I'd love to see. Father son stories are the best (not to be all sappy) but I know this has brought us closer.

Doesn't sound history or restoration related so I'm gonna move this to members Firebirds.

Ya losing anything in divorce is horrible. It has the base model wing because he said the wrap around is broke or cracked or whatever but I'm definitely getting the wrap around.
Sounds good Scott wasn't sure if this would be considered resto or not since it's basically done minus paint and motor

Not sure if the white camaro I have seen driving around this area is you or not. I have seen an old co-worker of mine driving around in a white camaro also. When I see the GTA I will know it is yours. Hopefully I will have mine back on the road in the next few months.

Ya it probably is I'm right down the road from you. I always see a guy in a white camaro coming north on dover at 60 when I'm coming south he waves I wave back. Mine is missing the lower piece of the front bumper so that's how you will spot me. The camaro will get parked as soon as the gta oiled and the serpentine system on. I can't wait

Nice story, if you decide to stick a Aftermarket deck in there, let me know. I will take that stock deck off your hands.

Ya charcoal I thought about that heading over there I just gotta see what happens when I start this second job soon.
Carlos I'm sure you would! even though the thought of an aftermarket head unit crossed my mind I wanna be able to use the steering wheel controls plus I love the way it looks. But I'll keep it in mind.
Thanks maks!

Sweet find reminds me of my buddies firebord, picked it up with 6 blown rings rebuilt it and got it back on the road, gun metal too with the gold lace rims I loved it, his tranny blew shortly after and the shop he took it to built a race tranny for it when he told them he wanted a stock one, couldn't pay and the guy sold it out from under him, he sold it after that unfortunately, after I picked some choice parts from it like the momo wheel lol everytime he rides in my car he says he misses the GTA, except now he has an SSA with a 305 swap and he keeps bugging me to get it back lol just keeping the GTA memory alive with it, a big thirdgen nut in AZ bought it, dropped the trans in and put it back on the road the same week, depressing but he's happy to have a bird again, and apparently he likes the rare ones
