1988 Trans Am Revival

My short sob story: Took my running driving car apart in the fall of 2013, had a few more kids and bought a house project so the car sat. Finally rolled it out of the garage yesterday. Still need to wash it and button up exhaust, intake and install the rear brakes but it was a moral victory just to see it on the ground. Installed Hooker long tubes..... my goodness what a pain.

Good looking piece.

Looks like Metco arm for the axle...were those in there before? Any issues with them?

I don’t have enough street miles on them yet to comment. Will let you know soon.

Cool. I'd like to hear your thoughts on them. Hopefully you have none, as in they work, and there's not much to report!

The only negative comment I've read is about bushing squeak, and that was on a Panther platform Ford. But it's a poly bushing, so not a surprising issue.

Getting closer to daily driver status. Rear end buttoned up, need to heat cycle exhaust and re-tighten everything, then off to get brake lines installed.

Looks Awesome. I am putting the finishing touches on mine too this week. I had the wife out helping me bleed brakes Sunday and was spinning the new ford 9 inch on jack stands last night to start the rear gear break in.

AWESOME car. Did you shorten the rear end to and if so how much? I just got the bump stops cut and the rear is being shortened for a deeper dish so i was curious.

No I did not shorten the rear end. The rear brake kit is pretty flat so the wheels can get away with a dish and still clear the calipers.
