Finally got a third gen!
Well, I have been driving for a little over a year now and my parents let me get my own car. Ever since I was like 5, third generation camaros have been my favorite car. And now I can say that I have one. I picked it up off a hot rodder in Northern Virginia for 6500 bucks. It has 77000 miles on the body and about 25000 on everything else. It has a crate zz4 motor, edelbrock headers, flowmaster exhaust, billet throttle body, 3:73 end gears, american racing rims, bf goodrich tires, and some other stuff that I have reciepts for. I have only been having one problem with it. And that is that it idles in park at about 1500 rpm. But when I put it in gear it drops down to about 600 rpm. I tried lowering the idle in park to about 900 but then it would stall going into gear. So, I put it back at 400 and you just have to give it a little gas when first going into gear or it will stall. My one friend said it could be a cracked intake manifold, but he didnt hear any whistling or anything. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy and any comments would be great. Thanks a lot.

You need to either attach the image, or host it someone on the web. After looking at your message it's trying to link it to your hard drive, which won't work. When posting a message scroll down and you'll see a filed to attach a picture, although it can't be over a certain size.
Steve
P.S. If you still have troubles, e-mail it to me and I'll host it on my site for you and give you the proper posting information.

Thanks guys. i hope to have a lot of fun with this car and in this forum.
This might sound like a lot of bs, but a lot of my friends really drive their cars hard and try to race everyone...but i am more for cruising and letting people look stupid. But that doesn't mean I will never push it

Great find -- great looking car. I work in Rockville off E. Gude Drive, if you ever see my purple beauty honk! I got to a lot of the gatherings as well. You can find Central Maryland F-Body Club on this site and other gatherings where you can show off your car at F-BodyHideout.com. Hope to see you at a gathering and get an up close look at that car. Try to make it out to the third gen nationals -- it's only about three weeks away!
My sig pic was before the overhaul -- you can visit my cardomain site to get a look at the new pics.

Just for kicks...
What can I still do to the car that wouldn't be wasteful considering what I have. So far, I was thinking about a megashifter and a speedometer that reads higher than 85. Any other ideas on what could be left to do to it?

nice looking car. don't know if i would go the megashifter route
invest in some big rims low profile tires. you won't be disappointed, but that is a sharp car
don't get yourself in trouble with it. bring it to some of our get togethers

Megashifters nice but not a necessity. OTOH, a 145 speedo does look good.
Just re-read your original post. Might need a stall converter if your stalling problem is not a vac leak or tuning issue. If it has a stock one now, THAT would be a good bang for the buck.

man, i love those wheels. its like my favorite style besides the torque thrust. but even if i got those, i love the tire set. im not really a fan of big rims or low profile tires. i like the look of the bigger tires. anyhow, how would i go about getting this stall converter? and yes, i do plan on going to some meets, especially the third gen nationals if i can make it. thanks a lot guys.

It was great to meet you at Third Gen Nationals this weekend -- hope to see you at more gatherings.
Your car is twice as nice in person as in these photos. Hope to see you are more events -- the Virginia gathering is this weekend (July 30th) at Hooters...you really should make the trip out there. It's good people, good food -- and good ... you can fill in that blank. LOL. (I won't make this one, I'm headed to OC.)
They usually move onto the local Burger King afterwards where it's a weekend car show -- lots of beautiful hot rods. It's worth the drive.

It was cool to meet you and see the car in person. Just like FordGirl said, the car looks a lot better in person.
