Anyone live near Berlin Ct?

Hey does anyone here live near berlin CT. I went there last night and that place is a scene straight out of the fast and the furious. It is nuts. There are a lot of ricers but there are so many hot muscle cars plus there was good showing of thirdgens. Well just wanted to see if anyone else has seen this carzyness that i have seen. This is the first of many trips I will take up there.

I've heard its nuts, but I've never cruised up there. Gonna get some friends together and ride up this summer from NJ. What nights do they cruise there?

Yup! I live about 10mins from the Berlin Turnpike, and once Fri and Sat. nights hit is crazy out there. Ricers, Third Gens, Bikes....lots of beautiful cars looking for a race at every light almost. But the cops are a be-atch out there too, they know whats going on, but its hot out there on the weekends.

Oh ya, If anyone goes up, and posts after look out for a red Nova with a loud whining from the blower (9 second car) a green Chevelle with a nasty idle (mid 11s) a white ProCharged LS1 Fbird (mid 11s) a red 99 GT conv't ProCharged (mid 11s) a green Road Runner (mid 11s) and a black LT1 (mid 10s on spray)!

If anyone sees any of these cars let me know, I want to see if any of my friends are out cruising yet and I don't want to get pulled over trying to find them!

Live right on the berlin/meriden line

I live in Meriden, which borders berlin and frequent the pike. I actually work right on the turnpike, but only during the day.

Mostly ricers up here like said above, but if you know where to look, you can find some sweet muscle cars, and a lot of f-bodies of all generations.

If you're interested, try the Olympia Diner parking lot, across from Circuit City(which you can't miss), or pretty much any parking lot from there to Newington on the pike. I've seen some nice trans ams there (including one lifted about 2 feet off the ground, looked damn ridiculous)

It is really getting out of hand though, it's to the point where you can't get a parking space ANYWHERE on Thurs-Sat nights.

Maybe I'll go cruise up there when my camaro is in a little better shape(aka when there's no rust or duct tape anywhere in or on it), but for now I'll just avoid the pike and all the ricers therein because it has become near impossible to commute on.

They actually have a website too: http://www.thepike.net

I haven't been down in a while. Did you see a guy in a wheelchair yelling at imports as they rolled in??? My friends were out and he has been known to do that. BLACKSUNSHINE would know him. Not Scott, but Ettore! He drives a 1994 LT1 red, with 17" SS wheels. Maybe you saw it!

It used to be good a few years ago, when I hung out at Roy Rogers, and then the ricers came and it turned to s**t! I hate when the Magnetic Minis show is at Sage Park (my friends club) because the rice crowd doubles and triples! I wont go back there for a while!

There are places, but I would not recommend you do it. The cops are cracking down so much they would pull you over all night for stupid things!!! It used to be nice, where there would be some stop light 2gear runs, and then they would (some) turn inot a late night run over in New Britian, or Meriden! Now kids (I say kids yet I am 17) go up there and run to 100 from stoplight to stoplight. It has gone down hill, and with a 10 second car now, you would pretty much dominate and have the tickets and insurance to show for it! In my eyes much more fun to go to LVD and get a timeslip!

I may go once more this year, but probably not. I will definately hit the track next year a few times besides my events! I don't mind having friends with thirdgens, or any american car! I like all muscle, and I like meating people from the web. I have met cobrakiller and he is a really nice guy, and I want to get together with him at the track also!

Maybe we should get something together at either LVD or Epping! We could have some guys from the board race, and check out eachothers cars!

Later!

No, Colchester is not going to open back up!!! My dads friend is a state trooper and they have their high speed driving classes and such up there, plus consumer reports uses it now!

Supposedly when Frank Mirada's son sold the place, the contract stated that it can never open up as a dragstrip ever again! It goes to show that some people just should not inherit stuff!

The only chance for one in CT is with the Indians! One of the tribes wants to open up a motorsports complex here in CT, but it is hard for them to get land and permits!

I will still make the drive to LVD but that too looks like it may go out soon. That would suck, I hate the trip to NH!!!

ive seen a petition going around to get one in ct. i think it would be cool. LVD is 99 miles from vernon ct. not a bad ride, but id rather stay in ct to go to a strip.

I agree, but that petition has been out for years now. I believe Jay Haas started it, and it had thousands and thousands of reply, but the stupid government in CT would never let it happen! I have to go over 120 miles to LVD, and even farther to NED, and Englishtown is a joke! I would love a track in CT, but I am not getting my hope up!

going to lvd or ne kills a whole day because of the travel time, thats why ive only been to the strip once. it would be great if a track was set up in ct. but like you said, im not going to have any expectations

Hey bigals, you live half way to LVD from where I am. We are about an hour from you!!! I agree a track in CT would be the best thing to happen since sliced bread but it will never happen, so I wont complain!!!
