Re: Good News on MA State Emissions Test

HEADS UP!!!

Just an FYI, all 3rd Gens are OBD I so dont start yanking your emissions stuff just yet! we may still have to meet emissions. They have not specified that we are exempt... If you re-read this, it says OBD not just OBD II & III's.
Currently, they are discussing whether or not the '84-'95 OBD I cars & light trucks will have to pass smog still. If so, nothing changes for us, because Mass has required that all '84 & up cars MUST pass smog for years now. Hopefully they will free us from having to pass it. You will still be required to have a smog pump & catalytic converter either way. Its part of the visual inspection, as long as it looks like it works

Re: Good News on MA State Emissions Test

I was told by the guy who does inspections at perfection an inspection station in Watertown MA that they no longer repair the odb I testing equipment. Also they will no longer be using it in October so unless he is mistaken we are all set.
