Cheap welder in CT?

Hey everybody, I was wondering if there's anybody in the central Connecticut area that does a good and inexpensive job of cutting rust and welding in new pieces of metal. I have a 1991 Trans Am convertible that needs a new section of floor where the driver's feet are, new battery tray, and some spot welds on the driver's side rocker panel and on the floor on the inside. Here are pictures:

You can see the holes that opened up from sanding:

And the floor underneath em.

I don't have any pictures of the holes on the rocker panel but they're small. There's a bigger one (about 1 1/2 inches long and 1/2 inch tall) with a few small ones around it (about 1/4 to 1/2 inches)

mig welding aint hard.. all it takes is practice..

Get a brand name welder, (the gas style.. flux core sucks), a sheet of metel the same gauge as your car, and watch some youtube video's..

Ive never had any formal training and ive done whole floors, full 1/4s and all types of crap..

I wouldnt trust my welding to structural or suspension parts but body sheet metal is no big deal.

Re: Cheap welder in CT?

i agree. pick up a decent gas welder and watch some videos online. practice on some scrap the same thickness to get your technique and settings dialed in. last summer i had never touched a welder before, and by the end of summer i had backhalfed an s10 for bags.

welding is all in the settings and having a steady hand.
