Re: looking for Notchback

I don't think anyone is going to just " trade "...I just bought a crap glass hatch for $50 at the bone yard ...to put on my iroc while my friend is working on mine ..a good glass ..like yours might sell for $150+ a notch back sells $600+ ..

I haven't started a thread about it ...but my notch back is an after-market pile of crap ...my friend is really good with fiberglass..he is taking mine and turning it in to a plug ...and then making a mold from the plug ...and then making me a new notch back ..I've bought everything thats needed. After everything is done ..we thought about making more to sell but at this time..i have no idea on a price ..

Re: looking for Notchback

Who is making these new? Those are likely reproductions which arent the quality of OEM and dont fit as well. Not looking to trade, he's parting out his 86 and selling the notchback setup. He may take less, i'm not sure

be aware that some of the aftermarket ones you buy dont come with all the needed hardware and bits, that will all add up. Make sure it even comes with glass, usually they dont, AFAIK, and that will add massive cost. So 800 for a complete good setup is not a bad deal.

Re: looking for Notchback

My notch ???? ..Is junk ..the only nice thing about it ..is that all of your stock glass hatch stuff bolts to it ...no need to buy extra stuff ..its so light that it doesn't seal ...and it leaks ...but push the botton and it opens all the way up ....its also warped ...the fiberglass glass is thin and hollow between the outside and inside ...

As my friend turns this one into a plug ..he is going to change the glass opening to fit the back window from a s-10 ...
