Project Winter Storm
Well today i started with my winter project. The plan i have for this project is what i should of done the first time. But you live and learn. This is what i plan on doing
-New Torque Arm
-Air Condition (yes im a wuss)
-New Intake Idea
-New Exhaust
-New Tranny Cross member
-Long Tube Headers
and some other minor stuff
This pass weekend i had the torque arm installed along with a custom torque arm mount. Got this from Spohn. Custom built boi!! WORD
Went ahead and Jacked the car up and took out the Radiator. Measuring what i need to do for my new one of a kind intake setup. I will keep updating as i go.
New Intake idea
Old Torque Arm
New Torque Arm
Car is under the knife as we speak. Not sure how long
Oh the Joy of making something work that does not belong

Good stuff Joey. All those items will surely add up and improve the ride.
So is that like a Corvette intake piece you're going to insert to suck cold air from below?

Re: Project Winter Storm
John, Oh fo sho bro! That car that goes under the exhaust is for the new Torque arm. It ties to my SFC. It sits higher than my exhaust now. So i shouldnt have any rubbing problems.
Travis, What do you mean? Those are some ebay filters. K&N doesnt make any that i can use. Its going to be sitting inside the fog light bucket.

Re: Project Winter Storm
So from the pics it looks like you took the torque arm off of the tranny mount or cross member and are actually running a shorter arm back farther right? I didnt even realize that at first.

Yes sir! Its now connected to the body of the car. It is 32 3/4" short. You can feel it being much tighter in the rear. We will see once i go drag racing

Re: Project Winter Storm
The idea i had was face the filters straight into the fog lights to get as much forced air as i can. thats where those filters come into play. They do sell non chrome ones, but i figure this would give the front end a little uplift. I didnt see any K&N filters with the hole in the middle or maybe im just blind. Im not a big fan of chrome. Worst comes to worse, i can always paint them black

Re: Project Winter Storm
I try to draw them out but i just cant get it. The filters are going to be sitting behind the front clip, just behind the fog buckets. This is something i got to do and see if it looks good. They are pretty cheap anyway.

I'm thinking my new fresh air project should just be driving with the hood off. Let the world hear the glorious blower whine.

Awesome Max. The question is, will it fit? I still need to finish mocking up the intake setup. Still waiting on the correct Corvette intake bridge to arrive. But from the measurements, it looks like its going to be a very tight fit. But we will have to see. Thanks again Max.

Re: Project Winter Storm
oh stop it...
Our new fresh air intake expands from the throttle body and continues to open up from the 58mm throttle body and expands the width of the headlights & drops down in front of the radiator for a total intake opening of 4" x 36"

"When the silver bullet and black beast get together though, it's like 10 thirdgens encompassed into 2."
The main attention I get when driving my GTA is from cougars and men in their late 30's who see my car and remember the good 'ol days when they were 19 and my car was the shiznit.
Oh and some confused kids in Mustangs that think I have a loose belt whining under my hood.

Unfortunately the other GTG member is a bit under the weather right now, but this is Joey's thread and at least he is making progress here!

Haven't really worked on the car. But i was able to almost finish the AC box. Had to mate my 3rd gen AC box to the 4th gen AC box to accept the 4th gen EVAP. Once i was happy with it i went ahead and fiber glass it. Just need to use body filler and paint it. And my C5 corvette air bridge came in.

He's adding A/C, so Im guessing he didnt notch the K-member when he first swap'd in the LS1.
