Volo Gathering Sunday April 26
Here it is folks.
The umpteenth mostly annual Volo Gathering.
27582 Volo Village Road
Volo, IL 60073
815-385-3644
They are open 10-5 every day.
We can all shoot for a 9:30-9:45 AM meet up and some time to bs while we gather and wait to get in.
The always popular auto museum/consignment collection is the usual favorite. They also have added the military exhibits and equipment as well.
Also on the grounds are 5-6 barns worth of flea market/antique fun.
Wives, girlfriends and children can all find something to do, so it does work for the entire family.
Directions from Volo's site are as follows:
The museum is located about 50 miles north of Chicago, 50 miles east of Rockford and 50 miles southwest of Milwaukee.
FROM CHICAGO:
- take route 94 north to route 120 west, ¼ mile past route 12 at the red 57 Chevrolet make a right onto Volo Village Road.
FROM MILWAUKEE:
- take route 94 south to Milwaukee ave / IL-21 exit and merge onto route 120 west. ¼ mile past route 12 at the red 57 Chevrolet make a right onto Volo Village Road.
FROM ROCKFORD:
- take route 20 east to route 23, turn left to route 176 turn right to route 12, turn left to route 120, turn left. At the red 57 Chevrolet make a right onto Volo Village Road
Volo's website is here: http://www.volocars.com/index.php
If u read this and are attending, please copy and paste and add your name to the roll call.
If we have enough people respond I will see if we can get a group rate and maybe make it a little cheaper for everyone. (There is a $2 off admission coupon on the site, but its good thru 3/31, so hopefully there will be one for April as well)
Car or no car, its time to get out and start enjoying the nicer weather hopefully coming our way.

Crap. Dunno.
Was going to Jefferson on Sat to drop a bird off in the corral but now it sold and the person is coming saturday. That only leaves Sunday for Jefferson. Need to find a quarter for another project bird.
I'll try to make it. I'll not add my name at this point.

BTW, pictures below.
There were a couple of fails.
The first fail was the Special, RARE 1984 Buick GNX!!! Yes, a GNX in 1984. One of NONE in 1984! No pics.
The BEST fail was the 1970 Plymouth Cuda CONVERTABLE pictured below. Just how does one mistake a Mistubishi Eclipse hardtop for a 70 Cuda? Specially considering the Cuda was supposed to be Yellow and Black, and a convertable. .

The two pewter 4th gen Firebirds annoyed me too since they were advertised as "Sport Gold Metallic" and "Champagne". I guess the Champagne doesn't bother me too much.. but Sport Gold Metallic? Come on, that was only like one of the most rare colors available on a 4th gen F-body..
