I'm running a 92 RS hardtop that came with the F41 suspension. The springs and sway-bars are stock. The front bar is 34mm and I haven't measured the rear bar. I have Koni Sport shocks in the front and Koni Specials in the rear. When I autocross I leave the rears at the soft setting and set the fronts to full firm minus a quarter turn. I also have a Global West steering brace and a Jamex STB. The rear has been modified with an Edelbrock pan hard bar, SLP 1LE trailing arms, Torsen diff, and 3.42 gears. This past year I've been running 265/45/16 Kumho VictorRacers on Factory Formula wheels.

I finished a close 3rd in the local points (up from 6th the previous year) and finished second in one event. I've been finishing a little above the middle of the PAX scores. Most of the problem is the driver, I'm smooth, but I don't charge the corners hard enough.

The mods for this year include new heads, cam and intake and should provide and estimated 220 RWHP / 280 RWTQ. I also plan to install a larger rear sway bar and when the tires ware out get a set of 275/45/16 Hoosiers on 16x9 wheels. New brake pads are also high on the list.

I ran an 88 IROC last year. Here was my setup:

Pep Boy Tires (not recommended)

Maximum negative camber (I loosened the three bolts on top of the shock towers and slammed 'em to maximum negative camber)

Stock IROC swaybars.

Koni SA's on all four corners.

Dynomax Cat-back.

4-Point Harness

...and I was good to go in F-Stock.

Halfway through the season, I switched to a 98 Z28. I won with the IROC and I won alot more with the newer Z. I am 2002 F-Stock class champion in the SCCA NOVR region and took second in the SCR Region. With my sticky tires for 2003, I plan to win both this year, but in my new Z.

Axoid, how well do those tires fit on your wheels? I heard that 255 is as wide as a 16x8 can go.

I use 245/45 R16 Yokohama AVS's and will begin using the same size Kuhmo Victoracers this year. THis is the same size used by the guy who won the ProSolo National Championship in a 4th gen (or maybe a 3rd gen) and the ESP Solo II in a 3rd gen.

Note that the smaller tire diameter will give you an effectively lower rear end gear, within the rules.

They fit fine. 255 is the limit for most tires, but if you check the size range on Kumho's web site and on TireRack, both list 8" wheels as the minimum width. Hoosier also lists 16x8 as the minimum wheel for their 275/45/16 tire.

'90 Formula WS6 (LB9) -- so far it's basically stock with poly bushings in the rear, 1LE driveshaft, Torsen "takeout", stock rimz with 245/45/16 Bridgestone S-03's. Sitting in the garage is a Random Tech adjustable torque arm and an extra set of front lower control arms with poly bushings. An adjustable panhard bar is on the way, too.

In the next couple months, I plan on adding weight jackers with (probably) 650# springs in front, 150# in rear; headers; Torsen T2R (or maybe an Eaton); and getting my 16X8 Monocoque wheels repainted so I can use them (15 pounds each!). I'm going to run in the STX class which has a lot of the same Street Prepared suspension rules. However, there's a 5.1L displacement limit, and you have to run on street tires (non R-compound). Tires can be no wider than 245, wheels no wider than 8".

Came in second locally for the season. This car is also driven on a semi-regular basis. Just check my sig. I do plan on switching to Kumho's this season. I think the size is 245/45/16 frt and 265/45/16 back. You can check Strano's web site. He won the Pro Solo this year. www.stranoparts.com

Larry - Would you be willing to separate the wheels and tires? What size are these Kuhmos - I assume that they are the V700's? What condition are they in? How many runs do they have on them?

Geez, I sound like my 8-year-old.

well, long story. V700's
245-45-16, 2 of the tires are great. not even close to flipping them over yet. so not even at 1/2 life yet. plently left.

The other 2... 1 developed a bubble in the sidewall for no appearent reason. The other 1 still had some life left, not much, but at least 3-4 events. (events, not runs)

so I'm tossing in (2) well used 265-45-16, but still have runs left in them, I'm guessing you'll get 2 events out of them.

I wouldn't even sell them, but I brought a corvette, so I'm unloading a little.

I'm sure we can come up with a fair price. or I'll partial it out if you only want some of them.

Larry,

Thinking out loud for a minute - it seems that the only tires that would make sense for me (especially given shipping costs and the PITA in handling that you would go through), the 2 245/45-16's that are in the best shape would be the ones that would make sense (I have already purchased 2 sets of used 245/45 V700's from another guy for this season).

Would you be interested in parting with these 2 tires only? If so, shoot me an e-mail at kgorawiec@yahoo.com

Also, I'm interested, what kind of Vette did you buy? My dad dominates in his 92 BSP Vette. I'm sure he'd be willing to assist in setup help, etc.
