Edit: Just have the one days run in my log book, low 6.82's at 102mph.

Thats what I was thinkin too. Sure its not a typo? My Formula weighs in at 3550, with me in it. 3300 empty. My car is a heavy car. All I have done is fiberglass hood, convo pros, with skinnys, aluminum heads, and no spare or jack...and thats it.

thats what I am saying. my car is an 88 gta. I hve no ac stuff, nothing behind the dash, all the stuuf under the carpet is gone, no spare tire, jack, the heater core is gone, the heater box and fan motor are gone, my efi fuel lines are gone and I have wilwood brakes in the rear.

now it has a 10point cage, a dart block which is 40lbs heavier than a factory one, the heavy azz rubber areo wing, all the ground effects, popup headlights, a griffin radiator whcih is heavier than stock and holds more coolant as well as the block holds more coolant, a big azz bg fuel pump -8 line all the way up a 1 gallon fuel cell for nos, a holy blue pump for my nos, my 15lb nos bottle and true dual 3in exhaust, ford 9in, full spohn suspension and subframes!!!!!!! I weigh 235 and with me in it and the bottle full it weighs 3438!!!!!!!

so no way that car weighs 3900

In kind of his defense, he does hae almost 600 cubic inches under the hood.

3900lbs, I'd have to be at the scale to see that for myself to believe it just knowing what other cars typically weigh, or maybe that number is to make the 600 inches look more powerful with the stats given?

I agree with ya Drew that 3900lbs is alot, but then again I cant explain why my car which has all of the same stuff removed as your car plus the bumper supports and door supports are gone on my car and it has a V6 but still comes in between 3640-3650 with me in it(270lbs).

Maybe your scales are a little off. That is really heavy. My car weighs 3323 with me in it and it still has all the factory interior and full roll cage, all spohn suspension. Moser 9". 406 with a glide.

weighed at a new dragstrip and scales are dead on..i was shocked myself.actually had them do it again cause i thought it was lighter.3905lbs.

car has a 12 bolt with southside lift bars.full interior with 2 subs and 2 amps, factory gas tank,2 big fuel pumps.has 2 1/4 tube headers with 4inch exhaust.has a motor plate and a dart big m block and its a tall deck to boot,,has a 20lb bottle(so its 45lbs full).has a 12point cage(back part of the cage is 1 3/4)all mild steel with strut bars to the front,2 batteries and my 240lb *** in the stock seat.nothing has been gutted, all the supports are still in the car and it has all stock front suspension.

with the 598 in the 85 with no tire spin at all it went 9.89 at 140 on motor.i pulled the motor and trans and put in my 3400lb 68 camaro with has higher gears so should be slower other than the weight...went 9.30's at 146..100lbs a tenth is a pretty good rule in drag racing..proved it this time.

no inflated numbers..its was a 875hp 540..my new 598 is ar5ound 950hp...

forgot add in the other post it also has a parachute on it.i stripped the 12bolt gears 3 times and wondered why..then i weighed it at the newer track..i pulled my 598 out the next day and put it in my 68.

Car: Camaro
Engine: 305-150/254 combo
Transmission: TH350 or T200
Axle/Gears: Srange 12 bolt; 5.14 or 5.38
It's a 150 factory hp 305 refactored to 254 by NHRA (357 int/390 exh max factory lift cam). Min wt for J/SA is 3345 with this combo. This has been a bit of a trouble filled season with carb, trans, etc issues but it has started to really come together. With a bit more testing I'm hoping for 11.4's this fall. Certainly do-able with what's been done so we'll see. I may also pull all the ballast out to see what it can really run at some point but we'll see how the testing progresses.

so you went from a factory 150 HP, to 254 HP, with a very low lift cam... I'm guessing also no porting allowed?
I'm not quite sure how 254 HP, 3345lbs, and mid 11's @116MPH go together... Or did you not mean 254HP?

It makes a good deal more than 254 hp. Each combo has its original factory hp rating and NHRA gives each motor a different hp rating based on the actual performance of each car/motor combo. And yes they don't allow porting. Must use the original size carb also.
