I know theres a C-shaped alt bracket out there that basically flips the alt upside down from the stock V-belt location. Puts it right down there with the mechanical fuel pump. I saw it on Ebay a while back and have been considering using one.

I really want to mount it on the drivers side. I have mocked up some brackets but i like the prof look.

Why not use pre-1969 brackets? They mounted the alt on the drivers side.

I just made up some spacers and a couple of small brackets and mounted it into the front of the drivers head. Pic doesn't show that well but might give you an idea.
