I know theres a C-shaped alt bracket out there that basically flips the alt upside down from the stock V-belt location. Puts it right down there with the mechanical fuel pump. I saw it on Ebay a while back and have been considering using one.
I just made up some spacers and a couple of small brackets and mounted it into the front of the drivers head. Pic doesn't show that well but might give you an idea.
theres one in jegs part number 969-9758 but i dont think it will fit with the factory power sterring or the s-10 box. i am going to this one when i change my k member and do a rack and pinion. hope this helps, sorry if not
Along this same subject, If anyone has pictures of an alternator mounted while using an electric water pump, could you post them? (IHI I know you've got some ) I dont care if I need to get a new alternator or not, the housing on my last one cracked anyways.
