I noticed that since the racing season is on hold theres a lack of actual track time talk here. Post up what you plan to accomplish in 2009 with your race car. Times, projects, completions, etc....
Mine is '86 Sport coupe that had it first run in November. It spun the tires and went 11.3 and mph'd 122. The 60 ft was terrible. I only got one run so I have some work to do on those times. I believe I can go a 10.99 with the right 60 ft' and a bit more timing (ran 34').
Projects for 2009 are
- install 10 point S+W cage ( got for X-Mas)
- run battery in trunk
- possibly rebuild my trans and install trans break.
- (late 2009) purchase Nitrous Express Gemini 6 kit 50-300 HP
- run 9's!

re: whats your 2009 season goals (and what didn't you accomplish in 2009)
Finished off this past season with a 9.55 @ 140 pulling a 1.31 60' and a wheelie. Did that with the D-1SC at 15psi.
Sold the Procharger, and now have a 91mm turbo. Other stuff I'm doing is: air to water intercooler, belt drive fuel pump, remote electric water pump, turn my 6 point bar into a 10 point cage, c5 front brakes, ls1 rear brakes, possibly a parachute, and taller tires.
The aim is to be able to run an 8.5, but I think I'll run it more like 9.0 unless I do put the parachute on.

Diff gearing has been changed. Parachute should arrive this week. Bigger heads are still a few weeks away.
The only goal I now have is to get an 8 second timeslip with no power adders.
The TO-DO list is still big. I need to make sure the car can be put on the trailer around mid March so I can take it out to get a chassis certification done on it.

Have you been running low 9's without an 8.50 cert? I keep thinking the seconed I click off a single digit run they'll be up my a$$ about cert.
Good luck on the 8's all motor. Just goes to show you one mans 12's is another mans 8's.

I've been running mid to low 9's under IHRA rules without a certification. I've actually been in the 9's for about 3 years now. I was just on the border of where they were about to make me get one. Next year I intend to hit at least one NHRA track and will now need the chassis certified.

And for the record for 2009 I d like to run 12's all day and then drive cross country getting 20 mpg. Except for the trail of broken parts, I did it in 08.

Hopefully run more than last year; was a tough year budget wise for racing. Got a different cam to try, swap out the 5.14's to a 5.00 set, see if we can get it in the 10's, try running it in Super Stock once or twice (and see if we can get it decently under the SS index) and see if we can start going some rounds again.

well i know a guy with 914whp procharged SS camaro out at the track that has gone 9.78 at 150 so i dont think i'll match that anytime soon. Thats crazy fast. I hope to go 9's but at like 140 if that. There are a couple of other cars that go 9's here that may be manuals as well i have to look into that. But either way next year will be fun

I will be happy if I can get out to the track this year, every time I tried to go last year something would go wrong with my car. I am hopping for high 14s with my little 305.

re: whats your 2009 season goals (and what didn't you accomplish in 2009)
My heads are currently down in Kansas and we found MAJOR issues hence the car running like crap last season, so my only goal is to have a consistant 10.50 car during the heat of the summer in full street form/pump gas which was my goal for last season, and if the head work does'nt net that, then it's time to get rid of this POS Comp cam the shop that ruined my heads speced out and put a Bullet cam like i picked out for it when it ran great with the wrong convertor....would like this car to be in the 10.20-10.30 range during the spring/fall N/A and then get my single 9 second pass with whatever it is it is since i have no desire to spend the money to be able to run 9's at this point consistantly...but we'll see how it goes.
Car wise, i want to figure out how to keep the front end down and nail down the R/T's like i used to have, this popping the front end up is a joke for bracket racing and it needs to be tamed in a bad way.
Schedule wise, will depend on the economy since all my income is sales based, and if folks keep freaking out with media BS then i suspect sales to be lower then they have been so touring the state/out of state venues may suffer a bit, but i'll be hitting all the local points races so long as the equipment holds up.
Get the inside of the enclosed finished off this spring like i wanted to last year but ran out of time/too busy to do.
Try to have fun racing again, been too much like a job the past 6 or 7 years trying to fight and stay in the hunt, want to see if i can learn to enjoy racing again instead of it being serious.

my first goal is to have fun....last year been realy bad...timing issue, gas issue, no more street fun, blown engine(wiped cam)
for time anything in high11 n/a would be enough for me....same for low11 on a 100 shot....if my 10bolt hold another year of abuse it would be nice, but i wont bet on that

my goal with my car is to go quick enough to justify all the safety equipment that i put in the car last summer before i trashed the motor, and to be able to click off 20+mpg on the highway.
i'm getting married in May so that's where my focus is, but my fiance has told me to finish the car and to get my truck done too before the wedding so we have less to do once we're married and can sit back and enjoy a little time!

LMFAO!!!!!! I got lucky, i have a good wife in that she understands/allows me to be me and do what i want, BUT i also told her once we offically started dating back in the day, I will do what i want, when i want, with whom i want. You can either grab onto my belt loops and go along for the ride, or we'll both be better off going seperate ways now before we waste eachother's time getting to know eachother any better....and like i said, we've been together for 12 going on 13yrs now and what i told her still holds true as does her attitude towards it. So long as the family does'nt want for anything, she does'nt care.

At first glance that seems like you found yourself THE gal.....but let me tell you from expereince, 10+yrs of marriage....she told you this simply because, once you put that piece of metal on her finger...you my freind...you are done, your car is done, your hobbiest are done, you will then become her beeeotch and do as she says....kinda like now, "here's your one shot to get your stuff done, because soon, any hope at retaining the lifestyle your used to will be over, done, nada, zilch, bye bye, see ya"

No race times but projects
- New front window and all around tinting.
- Install black carpet and paint plastic to black
- Paint Calipers and Drums (Red)
- Build sub box
- Finally if I got the time like to pull out my engine most likely rebuild it and paint it and the bay.
--edit--
- Add Viper system

knock 0.3 off gain a good 3mph and get better MPG!!
20 on the highway is kinda low.
(maybe faster depending if I get the BBK intake) --got new 3" catback, air intake and maybe I will get new chp burned.

I'll probably be backing off a little, spent too much time at the track last season. But, my goal each year is to make the track division team, and this year I might see what I can do in a class that I haven't run before (requires spray to make the ET, so I might not do that, either).
Car-wise, get the LS1/T56 Berlinetta #2 running. No real changes planned for the '57 or Berlinetta #1.

Get the 2000 ready for the fall. Need to weld in the bar and somehow find the money for the rest of the safety eqipment. I would like to swap out the Yank for an FTI converter, and buy a 12 bolt so I can stop breaking 10 bolts.
The 91', would like to see my goal of low 13's, and have it as a relaible DD once again.

Want to drop the 60' times down into the low 1.50's on the motor and 1.30's on nitrous
I'd really like to get the front wheels up in the air before my buddy does just for bragging rights haha

My fiancee bought me my Victor Jr intake on our first Christmas together. The seconed christmas she bought me a 2 tiered Craftsmen box and this christmas she bought me an S+W 10 point roll cage. She even picked it up herself and hid it in her mothers basement. When I opened the box it was the instructions and an S+W decal. We'll be married in April and I have a feeling things will not change. She definetly supports my hobby.

Mine is certainly no race car.... but I just want to see some street miles this year. Been parked too long... tired of wrenching on it. Need to enjoy it, losing sight of that side of this car.

Here's a little progress on my heads HERE. Going to ship my intake down and let him do a number on that too. Had a new cam budgeted in, but we want to get a new basline with just fixed heads and improved air ingestion so i'll just use the money i had set aside for a bumpstick and use it towards getting the intake maxed out to compliment the heads.

Make it to the track a few more times than I did this year.
Winter projects:
Remove Crash Bars from doors
Lexan Windshield

re: whats your 2009 season goals (and what didn't you accomplish in 2009)
I know I'm from the other side of the racing fence, but some of my goals should be relavant to this thread.
Like most women's New Years resolution, I want to lose some weight.
Try get down to the 3200lb min weight as raced (15lbs from me, ~75lbs from the car).
Complete every race (6), no DNF's. I managed this goal in 2008 (my rookie season) and only broke twice during practice sessions.
Winter Projects include...
Have 180+k mile injectors rebuilt - Done
Fix intake oil leak - Done
Redo exhaust - Done
Install adj brake prop valve - to do.

Stroud chute arrived today. More things to do now. Installing the chute onto the mount won't take long but I need to route and install the release cable assembly.

Just shootin for boring old 13's on motor for now. maybe 13.5-13.9. gotta break the engine in anyways so no need to beat on her.
I'll go for the 11's next year when she's finished.
I also needa perfect my speed shifting. I'm too prone to missing gears when i really push it, especially that nasty 1-2 shift. A better launch would be nice also.

re: whats your 2009 season goals (and what didn't you accomplish in 2009)
Well, a lot of plans.
First goal: 11.0
Got to 11.68 last year, but trans would not let me shift manually without searching for gear while hitting rev limiter. Leaving it in D made it shift at 5000-5500 when the cam makes power to 7200. That was 700r4. This year, TH350 with 8" ATI converter, hopefully shifting at 7000-7200
Second goal: improve 60' time. Last year: 1.56. The year shooting for 1.4x. Converter stepped up from 3800 to 4500. Also rear suspension completely changed.
old: Spohn CM LCAs w/poly bushings, LCA relo brackets, Hotchkis PHB, Airbags, stock WS6 swaybar, Random Tech T/A mounted to trans and Lakewood 50/50 shocks.
new: All Spohn - CM LCAs with rod ends, CM PHB with rod ends, Drag Bar, LCA brackets, CM T/A & crossmember and Lakewood 50/50 shocks.
Other projects to reduce front end weight and help RPMs:
Relocate battery to trunk
Electric water pump
Convert to manual steering (S-10)
140 amp alternator
Innovate Wide Band data logging system
New fuel lines (-6AN) out of trans tunnel
New trans cooler & lines
Titanium retainers & stud girdle
B&M Pro-Stick shifter
should keep me busy for the rest of the winter.

re: whats your 2009 season goals (and what didn't you accomplish in 2009)
No winter lay-over for me! - Immediate goals are to get a motor to stay together....
As far as this year, I'm shooting for 4.4x-4.5x range at around 160 in the 1/8. I really want to see a 1.0something 60'. I doubt my go-nads will develope enough to run the 1/4 anytime soon. Just not sure about running 220+ in a 3000# door-car with a factory front suspension .
- When I met my now wife I introduced myself like this,"Hi, I'm and @hole." She can't expect too much from that point forward, and I know she can't be too smart 'cuase I know who she married!

Here's a little progress on my heads HERE. Going to ship my intake down and let him do a number on that too. Had a new cam budgeted in, but we want to get a new basline with just fixed heads and improved air ingestion so i'll just use the money i had set aside for a bumpstick and use it towards getting the intake maxed out to compliment the heads.

re: whats your 2009 season goals (and what didn't you accomplish in 2009)
josh my friend ally has a similar motor and she has a much much better cam IMO than what you're running and has a spare she's trying to sell. If you're interested I know she's dumping the custom grind cheap for any of my buddies. I'm sure you still have my info if you're interested.
Once i get a new baseline with just port work only, i'm going to call Bullet and have them get me another magic stick which i'm sure will be alot smaller than the one i have right now, so it'll be interesting to say the least, best part...all shifted at 6K and will last forever barring no weird failures. My current valve springs were only down 8psi from new so that goes along ways with me since i actually drive the car/drive the car and not just a trip to the dairey cream twice a year LOL!! not daily driven since i dont want to put a ladder rack on the car, but enough to say it's driven a heck of alot more than many of the "street cars" around town that only come out when the weather is perfect and planets are aligned.

I'll have to check that out. I usually check the NOS forum there but haven't see that. I have been gunning for this kit for a while. I plan to make the purchase in the next month or 2.

Fast LS1 - I'm no nitrous guy by any means. I just scanned through a thread over there about a few guys not making the power they were jetted for and some others hurting motors. They say the gemini kits are rated at 10psi fuel pressure instead of the more comon 7psi though, not sure if that played a factor or not.
