What do you guys think I shoud run?

Ok,so here goes

Stock 882 heads( I know im savin up for some better ones)
cut for 2.02 intake/1.6 ex..screw in studs.1.6 roller rockers. mild pocket porting and port matched

9.8:1 compression

Eagle rotating assm (cast crank 5.7 rods with forged pistons)

edelbrock rpm airgap

holley 750 mech secondarys

complete summit ignition system(box, dist, coil) and accel 8.8 wires accel header plugs

Comp xe274 cam
LSA 110
dur @ 050 int:230
dur @ 050 ex:236
lobe lift: .327int,,.327ex Or .523 with 1.6 rockers

Hooker super comps and 4in mufflex system

2800 stall th400

3.73 gear with 255/50/16 street tires

3400lbs weight...

Suspension:

poly bushings

jegster torque arm

boxed lca's

lcarb's

1.75 in drop(cut stock coils)

Does it seem to be a pretty rounded combo?(except for the heads..Im savin up for some 200 cc runners)
I know this isnt really set up suspension-wise for drag racin but its more of a street car...
Do you guys think it could hit mid 13's with good sticky tires?

thanks

Re: What do you guys think I shoud run?

i have a similar setup but with performer rpm heads and a smaller cam, i went 12.6 at 108 on drag radials... you should see a low 13 with good tires. I also was running a 700r4 so i had a little deeper first gear

13's should be a walk in the park as long as you can get off the line.

Re: What do you guys think I shoud run?

At the moment im kinda scared of sticky tires cause of the stock 7.5 10 bolt..I dont like pushin my car.i did step up to 28 spline axles and a stud girdle, but im not sure how long it will last with good tires...

i have personally put a 7.5 into the low 12's and never had any problems.
but i also had an auburn locker, and aftermarket 4:11 gears so it was beefed alittle.

As far as you running 13's I don't think that should be much of a problem for you at all. My personal guess would be somewhere around 12.80's on good tires if the weather is right.

Re: What do you guys think I shoud run?

I have riichmond gears and a 4th gen augurn cone type diff(the non rebuildable one)
Also would moser 28 sline axles be worth the investment? Do they really help that much? Ive broken 2 stock 26 spline axles when i still had the 305 still in the car...

Re: What do you guys think I shoud run?

personally if your up to spending money on the rearend, i wouldn't put any more money into that 10 bolt. i would just get a 9" or a 12 bolt from moser since you got that 406 under the hood. 406 = lots of torque = broken 10 bolt

like i said i put one in the low 12's and it was fine but it was only a matter of time before i would break it. so i started saving my money and bought a moser 12 bolt.

and for me one nice part was that since i didn't break the 10 bolt i made enough money on it to get a good posi and 4th gen rear discs for my 12 bolt

Re: What do you guys think I shoud run?

one more thing that i would like to add is the tech at moser told me that a 7.625 10 bolt with what i said mine had in was probably good for 12.60 and slower with an auto with no trans brake. but he also said that he wouldn't have spent the money i did on a 10 bolt anyways because even at 12.60 it would probably break if it saw that number on a regular basis or if it saw alot of street abuse which tells me that in order to make it live you'll have to drive like a grandma on the street and not go to the track very often and that sucks cause if you got the power you should use it when you see fit street or strip

Re: What do you guys think I shoud run?

Is your rear broke? If not then leave it alone. Mine has no issues and it has gone 11.30. Especially if your on street tires it should be fine.

Your combo has to be good for 105mph the way it sits. I've seen less motor go faster. You might have a 110 in there with a better head and a 10 inch converter with 3k or 3200 stall. Shedding some weight might help also.

My guess is 13.40/13.30's @ 106 1.91 60ft'
