i'd rather a stock tank sumped with a -10 fitting on a thirdgen than making all the bulkheads, etc to run a fuel cell not to mention cutting out 70% of the rear floor to make a flat panel for the cell to sit on and then fabricating a rear bulkhead as well.

agreed. i would run a sumped stock tank unless you are planning on a back half or something.
I read that you ran a fitting in the bottom of your stock tank for a little while,I was interested in knowning in what spot on the bottom of the stock tank you mounted your bulkhead fitting. I noticed the stock tanks are baffled toward the bottom rea part of the tank, where the original stock in tank pump strainer pick up would be positioned. Is this the spot you placed your fitting at..Thanks
I'm getting ready to put a sump in my stock tank this weekend. Cost was around $60 on ebay. I'm going to use an electric pump and feed a return back to the top of the tank.

I agree with everyone else, just sump the stock tank. Watch out, because even using silicon bronze rod and paying close attention to heat control, it is very possible to end up with cracks in the sheet metal of the tank.
Fast 383-- To run a -8 return line to the top of the tank, you will most likely have to drop the tank some. I had to lower mine around 1", and put some closed cell foam on top to "sandwich" the tank and keep it from moving.
Best pic I have of a fitting in the bottom of the tank. I did it over the summer and has worked great since. I put the hole the closest to the bottom of the tank I could.
