More ooooomph for $500...

Hey guys. For Christmas I was thinking of the following solutions to improve times next summer. My best of 13.8 is really the tip of what I want to acheive. The ZZ4 is running real strong though traction and hooking up is and always will be a prob with the 2.7 open rear... Here are my favourite options any advice is welcome

1) LT-4 HOT cam, runs the ZZ4 up to around 387 BHP

2) SSM traction kit, includes lift bars, sfc's, driveshaft hoop and crossmember

3) 125 bhp Nitrous kit (actually the cheapest option)

4) Rear gear - maybe 3.42's with POSI (getting hold of this in the Uk is not easy though!!)

So what do ya reckon?

I'd go with some LCA($90), posi($310), and some 3.42 gears ($150).
If you have a ZZ4 these should be mandatory, I repeat mandatory.
I guess it might cost you more overseas.
Also, some LCA lowering brackets ($65)wouldn't hurt.

Im doing well, I figure that next time out I can hit the 12's on the radials, I recently purchased some Nitto Drag radials, I will also be replacing my worn out valve springs(No head work just replacing) and Im going to a slightly upgrade turbo, I want to run in the 12's on the current setup, then timeit with the new mods.

CONGRAT's on the marriage.

As far as upgrades for your car I would stick with all the plans BUT the cam, no sense making more power when you cant put what you got down on the pavement. I would do the cam as the last thing.

The car witht he zz4 motor is a 88 I think, we had the car on the diacom and everything look good, but timing is having to be kept around 0 so it wont knock(ping), I think there alot more in the car, on the Gtech computer it has run LOW 14's...here is a link http://content.communities.msn.com/i...ess&ID_Topic=4

Phil,

Sounds like your car is running strong, keep me updated! How much is the turbo upgrade going to cost?

I guess the suspension mod is (ssm kit) is the first mod, like you say power is nothing without control If I was being REALLY sensible I would do domething about the brakes but that is if

KREAM's car looks good, I had the same problem with pinging in mine and I run with 0 timing too... Is there much performance in advancing it?

Can't believe the Summer is over Another year and then back for the Euronationals against Ian again, I'll be quicker but I can put money on the fact that he will be too... Gotta love the drag scene.
