this weekend was super chevy weekend at maple grove raceway in reading, pa. my friend brandon decided he anted to sand down my car. so we both went at it wednesday at 7, sanded till 930? (he works night shift) we sanded and sanded and sanded....finnaly fri around 730ish. brandons friend start painting my car, he works at a chevy dealer as the painter and body shop guy. 2 filler coats, gallon of GM black, and 3 clear coats later...he put the last coat of clear on was around midnight on friday. to me it was alot better then before!!!!

it only cost me in total $500...$320 for supplies and im giving him $180 casue he painted it.

ive gotten alot of compliment at super chevy..especially when they laughed when i told them the paint isnt even 24hrs old!!!

NICE! My car needs some more clear coats. How much was it for the clear coats alone?

 

Where is mesquite Texas? And black is also the best color.

that looks great in pics and i trust you like so all is well ....... may not be perfect but if in your mind its an improvement thats awesome.

There is no color other then black and learning how to take care of a black vehicle is half of the challenge to me - I have 3 of them!!!

I'm suprised you got it looking that good for that cheap. It really does look good. What else have you done to it? Like engine, trans, exhaust, etc... I am a fan of the facts. Also, it looks great with those rims and tires

 

cars all stock.....just those crager s/s's, i have a sound system, advanced auto air cleaner, and chrome tips. thats about it. just rolled over 161,000 miles. has the 305ci, 700r4 trans and stock one wheels peal rear. but i love the car........back in may of 2010 it was hit by a deer and the insurance company totaled it. so i have a good story for people, and i saved it from a junkyard!!!

very cool. I'm guessing he had the paint and clear already sitting around? I do a lot of body work on the side, and you would be lucky to walk into a paint store and buy just a gallon of base coat for $320. not to mention the cost of the sealer and the clear. nice score!! its good to have friends with skills! looks good for a quick scuff & shoot!

 

lucky. wish i had a painter friend. i'd give a friend a grand to paint mine properly. the previous owner on mine had crappy prep work and painted over rust instead of fixing it

 

the guy who painted it works for a GM dealer in the bodyshop..i think he has connections hahahaha
