On the bumper in a big way.......
I don't yet have any shots of it while it was up, but have seen a couple in person & will be getting them sent to me this week after he(Everette "The Pic Man") prints them.
Went up hard, apparently pulled the rear tires 6-8" off the ground from what I'm told. The pics Everette has show it 2-3' up right at the initial hit, then on the bumper maybe 20-30' out, then another just barely past the 60' clocks with smoke coming off the rears as they touched back down. Slip shows a 1.30 60ft & was seemingly tripped by the 'chute as it was the only thing on the ground....
I'd like to thank BMP & staff for a killer racing surface, and also thank my 'chute mount for hanging in there & doing a job it was never intended for...lol. From what several on-lookers have said, it seems it's the only thing that kept me from going on over on the lid -
......and this is the little 496 BBC that I previously ran in the camaro, so it counts as 3rd gen related!
Really didn't expect the ol' girl to even get on the converter enough with the little single baby kit to lift the front, she responded with a b* slap to me for me under-estimating her.

I'm glad I didn't damage anything to do with my chute but those pictures sure look the same.

Re: On the bumper in a big way.......
I apparently under-estimated the baby single kit's ability to get on the converter, which in turn lead to the ol faithful 496 handing me a b*-slap by not having enough power to slip the tires. It dead-hooked and went straight up.
WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO I HAVE VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!
And a blurry MONEY SHOT, rear tires, 6-8" off the track!
1.30 60ft and it definitely appears the on-lookers were correct that it tripped the beams with the bumper/chute, LOL!

Re: On the bumper in a big way.......
Thanks guys.
It really didn't land all that hard. Wished I'd realized what happened when I shifted 2nd(rears came off the ground & the r's went through the moon so I lifted thinking the trans let go). I would have gone on into high, woulda been great to road it on out a ways.
No major damage, just a couple dzues tabs knocked out. - We put the sissy sticks on and went to try another but when I shifted 2nd nobody was home; apparently rolled the sprag during the wheel stand/landing. I lifted & clicked high, padded it & it was there so I planted back in it and ran it on out the back; went 9.0@ 148.
The track owner has already been in contact with me, we're both looking for a hi-res pic with all four off the ground. "The Pic Man" has a couple good ones from ahead/below with it on the bumper, but what he got are just before & just after the 60' marker so it's as it was going up & the 2nd has some smoke coming off the rears as they touched back down.
Car goes very straight & obviously HOOKS, fresh 25.4 cert (7.50/4.50) it will make somebody a great car but I need it gone to get back in the camaro.

Re: On the bumper in a big way.......
Does the track even have a race director? I swear there's more people standing around the starting line than were in the stands.
All I have is in car footage of my wheelie. I think I lifted before the back tires came off the ground but I'm sure they would have if I kept my foot in it.

Re: On the bumper in a big way.......
I don't lift when it goes up, that just leads to major damage; click the next gear & get on with it. - Besides that, you have to realize the whole event from letting go off the t-brake to the front being back on the ground was only roughly 1.5 seconds. I launched, grab the shifter & clicked 2nd, it rev'd out so I dropped to roughly half throttle; all within 1.2 seconds.
That wasn't a typical organized race, that was a grudge event. Lots of money changing hands by the people around the line.
#1 Stunner was the white new-edge stang that was in the right lane. - They annouced me by Jp Outlaw, my YB user name.
