need i really say much more. if you know battleground washington than you know where the first gas station is (76 i think) right off the off ramp. well there was a few pretty hot late teens early 20s girls at the burger joint there. and like any teen with a built car i gotta show off right? well i get gas get ready to pull out i look left NO cars i look right NO cars im like alright i go out side ways like no other than let the tires scream for a long ways all the way to the light thats gotta be 100 ft or better speedo says 90 and im workin the throttle up and down i look in my rear view guess who is 2 feet from my bumper... clark county sheriff... i pulled over before his lights were on shakin in my pants. he walks up laughing and i just new i was done. he asked why i didnt see him and i said cause you werent there aparently he was parked behind the gas station heared the tires squel and drove around.... terrible day. he than tells me well i could write a 780$ ticket impound my newly bought car take my license away for a year and bring me to jail than id have community service. some how he was having a great day or something and let me off with a warning. talk about a safe there. than the next day my security alarm at my house goes off and i set it well i fell back asleep and the alarm company called me and it didnt wake me up guess who is knocking at my door. same cop who was A LOT nicer this time haha. whatcha think about that haha

thats 3 threads now? i to am 17, but find i can control myself in my firebird.i have never been pulled over. And a 305 bored .030 over is not a "built" car in any way. In my opinion a built car runs at least 12.50 at the strip, you push 13.7 maybe and im being generous. We dont need your stories posted around TGO

You got your free out of jail card. Did the same crap when I was a kid in my old mans vette and his 41willy's coupe gasser. Just remember the girls like you alive not dead. But they do try and tam the wild boys down. My wife hasnt had any luck on that. I still have a lead foot everytime a diesel truck pulls up beside the old chevy 4x4 but then they play catch up. Enjoy being young but do it safe. By the way you didnt waste my time like to hear a good one.

i was young and stupid once too. Ended up replacing front suspension on my 87 sport coupe because of it.

I now drive an 87 trans am that does high 12 at the track.. yeah i drive it fast... only when i have the chance to suprise a new vette.. got one to run me from a 45mph roll on the highway.. i wont say how fast we went to but i was at his door the whole time. I go have fun sometimes but im smart about it. Ive had my share of tickets and its just too expensive to be stupid anymore.

A TPI car running high 12s is doing it because of torque, id be willing to bet your MPH was around 105/107...

that said, a NEWER vette would have put a boot in your *** from a freeway roll, OR, he wasnt racing you.

Ive owned several LS cars, a c5 vette, etc etc...theres no way that a high 12second TPI fbody, is going to stay anywhere near a c5 or newer vette from a roll.

Ps, please enlighten me as to how i am ANTI thirdgen? just because i dont beleive 95% of the BS on this site, has nothing to do with thirdgens at all, its the OWNERS.

i have two of them, and im trying to get a third right now...

You got off lucky there, dude. Cop probably cut you some slack this time since you're either a new driver, or haven't been driving for too long. Yes, these cars are fun to drive aggressively (it's what they're for, right?), but try to learn to resist the urge to show off or peel out everywhere you go. If you start getting tickets for it, they'll add up quick. Not only will those hurt your wallet, but your insurance rates going up over reckless driving tickets is NOT what you want. Some people get so bad into it, the cost of insurance forces them to sell their babies! (I can't keep track of how many camaros or mustangs I've seen for sale on craigslist that say "too many tickets, need to sell").

Besides, had you done a burnout, and lost control or hit something, I don't think the girls would have been too impressed ...just sayin! Have fun, but be smart about it. Don't be peeling out when leaving gas stations, or other public places. There are usually plenty of good hiding spots for police to watch out for such acts. If you have some real severe lead foot, take it to the track. Keep yourself, and others safe. And your money in your pocket!

Why do people have to jack a kids thread. I didnt know they made vetes after 68 any ways LOL. He might have beat the vette but who really cares. Grew up racing and the hwy is bs. keep it up and you'll end up pick'n someone guts-or brains up. As for tickets got them to the most $$$ one was caly on my bike at 195mph fine $6000 plus I spent about 6mos in the big house, and had to talk to people about street racing. another time I was behind some buddys and watch his drive carapult the back of his car up. Never wrecked a car at hi speeds but I did lay my GSXR1100 down at 110. not any fun. I use to chance life all the time I still do but know I think of others and not ready to leave my kids. I guess after that wreck I slowed down or it was watching at buddy get his head taken off. Trying going home to explane that to his mom. I still feel it was my fault.That was 20+yrs ago. Just keep the racing safe and everyone thinks there car/truck is fast Thats man/woman for ya.

if any cop clocked me at 195 they would not have caught me. i have never understood that. oh i passed a cop let me pull over and wait 10 minutes for him to catch up. you know what dude im 21 i like to come out sideways from parking lots...as long as your not endangering anyone else then go for it. these cars are MADE to be enjoyed whether its a v6,v8, SC camaro or GTA. im really tired of people taking time out of their lives to bash other people on here. we all joined this site to talk and share info,stories, and experiences.

i have always noticed that cops will let you off as long as it was not endangering people and if you actually look like you are handling what you are doing in a professional (lack of better word) manner.

lol, dont the older c5 base model vettes trap about 110? and the ls3 ones trap like 114-115? Come on, Ive got an ls1 in a light third gen and only trap 111, there is no way a TPI is going anywhere near a c5 or c6 without extensive modifications.

Hey man my car isn't that fast. I'm running a horrible set of heads that are ported... I proudly rev out to 5000 RPM lol. We estimate around 520 ft lbs, the motor was built for a truck originally... I do have a set of machined 781's though

I have my fair share of street racing stories, as well. Most end in my car losing terribly. My most entertaining was going up against a 2010 Chrysler 300 HEMI.... Knew I'd lose, but I only went to the speed limit anyways. I'm 18, I've been pulled over once cause the cop didn't see my seat belt (I always wear it). I have fun when it's safe around, or out on the dirt roads going in circles or something, but I'm still always careful.

It's great to blast around in these cars, as long as it's safe. I actually have a very similar story, roaring out sideways at an intersection impressing the ladies, but luckily never got pulled over.

Ha I actually thought my car was fast till a bud at work showed me just how fast his kia was... I'm pretty ashamed of my car and don't care to hear him brag about it but it happens, anyway just keep having fun everyone knows what its like to be 17 and show out for the ladies

wow. cascade crew is just like it always was. a bunch of dicks. dude don't let them bother you they treated me the same way when I was younger and first getting into these cars. admittedly they're not the fastest cars and thanks to top gear every calls you a serial killer for having one but we all love them an know what it's like wanting to play with your new toy. I want my time back for all the time wasted by people bitching about reading a story on the internet and feeling like they were owed something. wait! my time's not that valuable and neither is your so stfu and let the kid enjoy his ride.

haha yea kid got lucky...i use to be dumb when i was that age to but i grew up quick the last few years so at first this made me think nasty things to say then i remembered the time i came out a intersection spinning tires after a local car meet the weekend i ran low 13's, smoked them tires good and went about a mile up the road witha cop following me the whole time. Got pulled over, impounded the car and wrote me 7 tickets, no insurance no inspection unsafe vehicle, cracked windshield, not having my license on me, speeding wreckless driving, maybe more! Had to walk 20 miles home at midnight!
Other time is a bit longer story and ended up having my a** thrown in jail with a big bail and lots of lawyer fees.

I grew up in South Dakota where you can get your license when your 14. I bought a 74 Duster with a 318 and had my license suspended a few months later, had it suspended 3times between 14 and 16 and got more tickets than I can remember. Was sure expensive! At one point when I first came in the Navy I had a $150 car payment and was paying $200 a month for insurance. So not worth it! Took me a few years but managed to settle down and be more careful when I want to play.
