Yeah, have those guys network with us, although I have a suspicion that they're into 4th Gen -- not 3rd Gen...

Ah, it's hard to get a 4th gen guy to notice our cars, even my TTA doesnt' get a second glace from them. I did start up a conversation with an older gentleman, driving a late-model SS, he was pretty cool and didn't look down at my slightly beat-up GTA, so not all of the 4th gen guys are 3rd gen haters. Most, maybe, but not all. Hey, even a young Army guy didn't sneer at my car, he also had an SS, but it had a few mods.

I went ahead and posted on their board, asked if this was just a 4th gen thing or whatever. Seems that they have high hopes on including more then just F-bodies, from what few posts they hae there. Pretty small as of yet, but it's recently started. Who knows, maybe it will work, maybe it won't - we did get our own regional area here, after all... Now if we can just manage to link up more then once a year....

It's not a matter of whether or not 1st, 2nd or 4th gen people notice or like our cars or not, but simply that the cars are so different. Other than the name, heritage and a few parts, the techno-speak for each one is like a different language.

This makes communication more difficult for each group except on universal topics such as beer, dogs, girls, surf and grilling.

Aloha

Hi, My name is scott and i am the originator of the flyers that are starting to get around about an Fbody club in Hawaii. It has come to my attention that there is already an active Camaro club, as well as a few other clubs on the island. Id like a club dedicated to the Fbody, although there has been talk that we may not get enough interest for that so as to create a "muscle car club" instead. As of now, its Fbody...until we get enough members and are able to vote on certain issues, i guess im making the rules. Input however is all taken seriously and considered with high regard. This is NOT a 4th gen only club. This club is open to all Fbodie owners and enthusiasts.

My intention is to have our own internet message board very shortly and this will help to improve the speed of membership and involvement.

If your interested, please express your interest under www.gcfba.org forums then under the Hawaii Forum. This is the current forum for the formation of this club. Its everyones club, and i think it will be exciting to be the first people to really get it going in the right direction.

Aloha,
Scoobs

P.S. We dont hate 3rd Gens, my first true love was a 88 IROC. Ive just simply upgraded!

Simple: International Race Of Champions. Chevy basically hijacked the name from the race by using IROC and it became a legend, sorta like Z-28 became a legend among musclecars since Day One. Unfortunately, I've never had a Pontiac, but have forevermore lusted after a 389 Goat. Wow, that would be a great upgrade!

Hi Scoobs -- thanks for coming online, alway appreciate the opportunity to meet-up with Fbody enthusiasts.

A while back I used to belong to Hawaii Camaro Club and it always miffed me that Firebirds were excluded and was one of the reasons for unjoining. ThirdGens excite me 'cause of the body shape and I think it would be the coolest thing in the world if I could somehow transplant a 3rgGen body on the much more advanced 4thGen chassis and running gear! To me that would be an ultimate upgrade.

So, what's the purpose of your club? Eat, drink and talk smack about cars I hope, hehe.

Yeah, mainly a internet chat and get together club with what will most likely be Bi-monthly events, eventually become monthly. Probably try to swing Weekend cruises to a dinner spot, pictures and talking the

Also, my very first Fbody club used to have tri-montly
" Installapalooza's " Get the guys together with some dogs, burgers and beers and start busting out bolts!

Also would like to set up a club dyno day, track day, and eventually sponsorship, parts discounts...its up to how many members we get.

Id love a 92 Z28 with a 6 Speed and LS6 Crate motor. Fun daily driver in my books

Hey scoobs, welcome to the boards here. It's cool that you're trying to get all types of F-body enthusiasts together to go cruise, talk bs, & just basically hang out. I'd love to go on a whole bunch of cruises but my car will be in storage until summer time. When it's all back & legal, I'll be there!!!

And oh.....to everyone that remembers my sneek peek thread......the motor is slowly coming along Stay tuned!!!
