Camaro parts

Army Salvage Yard has an '89 V8 RS 700R4 with some pretty good parts, engine looks good, has serpentine belt setup in case any V-belt owners want to upgrade. There's also a 5.0 TPI T-Top Z28 that will be open for bid soon, starting price will be $650.

I have an extra set of like-new gas lift-struts for 3rdGen hatch that are very strong. First $20 takes 'em. Also have a polished black grill insert that says "Camaro" available for $20.

Engine: 305 TPI ~ 2.3 OHC
Transmission: 700R4 ~ Mazda 5-Speed

Is the RS FI? Im looking for a fuel pick-up from a FI car to complete my TPI swap. If so, would it be possible for you to ship to 63021? Thanks!

Ed, hey did you notice if it had the valve covers on it still? I am looking for a pair of stock non chrome center bolt covers. Mine has some cheesey looking chrome ones that I think look like crap. If not, do you happen to have a set laying around for cheap? Lemme know. L8RS!

Yep, it has centerbolt stock covers. Also looks like a MSD distributor too, but it's not TPI.

Oh ok, sounds good, going to have to stop by there tomorrow and take a look, you sure its an MSD on there as well? Off topic but do you happen to know where I can find sheet metal the gauge of our cars around here? Going to be making some patch panels soon and want to find what I need before hand. Thanks again! L8RS!

Well, the dizzy has a red top and "MSD" plug wires going into it, so most likely it is MSD, but no, I didn't pull it to see. If the panels needed for patches are on body panels that are not removable, just pack a battery-powered saw and cut them out. The body shell will be crushed after parts are picked anyway.

Sorry, dunno if it's there now, I've not visited for a few days. TPI is great and the only way I know to get 20+ mpg in a 14-sec car. Installing TPI into a carb-car is a major project though... Start with the wiring harness and go from there... Personally, I like carbs better. More simple. More power. More gas, heh.

The car is not a TPI anyhow. I think it is still there but not too sure. Also you have to have a military ID in order to get parts there, so if you do not, then you gotta find someone to take you in.

There's always the tpi/700r setup sitting here in Scott's garage with no place to go. Full factory setup, 305, '87? Whatever year I said the trans is would be the same, both from a GTA.

So, if you'd be willing to swap the full induction and related componants this would be okay. If you wanted to swap the whole block then... you probably wouldn't want the weakest TPI ever produced.

Scott
