9-bolt rear for sale.
9-bolt 3.27 rear for sale with approximately 90K on it. Hasn't been run in 3 years but when it was pulled it worked fine(to the best of my knowledge). Disk brakes, PBR calipers w/backing plates etc etc, complete.
$300 but very open to offers.
Pick up only in the Philly area.
Thanks!

is all that it is missing is calipers? Does it have axels and the bolt studs and all? also another questions(out of ignorance) is the 9 bolt a strong rear or is it the 9 inch?

Strong rear end is my understanding, ring and pinion other than 3.70 are expensive. Mine is making noise and causing my wallet to have a panic attack. 9 in Ford strong...dont know for sure but dont think so. I am looking for a 9-bolt like this in Texas but not having a lot of luck so far....so I wear ear plugs in the car and on the Harley until I find one.

Backing Plates
I really need those PBR 9-bolt backing plates if all fails, and the sky goes grey........I have all the rest of the PBR stuff, I am currently running a 28 spline, 10 bolt w/LS1 brakes 3:73 due to the high cost of the 9 bolt,........... I might sell my 3:47 87' disk 9 bolt, 80k miles..... also have an extra set of 28 spline 10 bolt axles.

I'm not going to rip apart the rear just for the backing plates. Then I'm left with an incomplete rear that'll make even harder to sell.
Sorry

Not trying to get you to split it up, just wasnt sure if you were using it for parts or not, any way, I wouldnt split it up for them either if it is usable, I set rear gears often and thats why its so hard to find just the plates, I looked at a 90 L98 parts car today at lunch 1/4 mile from my work, and guess what, I think I got some, ...told you the sky turns grey every once in awhile........

I'm not parting it..I don't have the tools to rip it apart.
I can't ship at this point still. I don't have any access to a truck and it's sure as hell not going in the Z

I'd do a search on the brake board. I want to say that you need the prop valve and maybe a few other little things.
From what I remember it's not hard at all however I'd do a search since I've never converted a drum brake to a disc brake.

I am willing to get the PBR backing plates from you, if you split it for the posi and part it, you dont need more than basic tools to split it, as it has floating axles, not like the 10 bolt

Ok look everyone, he doesent want to part out the rear. He does not want to ship the rear. Period.
Its a good rear, Ive checked it out and have been in the car it was in. Who ever buys it is getting a good rear at a good price.

Yeah, thanks rob.
If you couldn't tell, I was joking. Regardless, good rear or not, if he doesn't want to part it or ship it he's limited to local buyers willing to pay $300 for a rearend that most are trying to get rid of due to the expense involved in replacing parts. Good luck.

Acually this rear is great for ANYONE with a 10 bolt... 7.5" 10 bolts are JUNK (which is why none of my 3rd gens have one anymore) and the 9 bolt will take alot of punishment. Especially good for all the RS's out there with 2.77/3.08 and open diffs. Not to mention the PBR break upgrade is worth $150 by itself.
And his price is negotiable... if someone were to make a reasonable offer, Im sure he would take it, as he no longer has a 3rd gen to use it in. Hell, if I didnt already have an extra 9 bolt and Moser 9", Id have taken it.

I'm not parting the rear though, it's not worth my time and effort. If the rear sits for another few months then so be it, I'll unload it up at the Englishtown swap meet
The only reason why people are getting rid of their is because they already blew it and need another one

The CAN be...there are factory 9-bolt drum rears out there(rare) but I wouldn't have the slightest clue on how to convert it lol
