Vigilante 9.5" lockup Racing Torque Converter (700r4/4e60)
http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...id=297&pcid=73
19-VIGILANTE-5D Almost $1000 new.
5-disc Kevlar lockup clutch can be engaged during racing for
direct power through the converter. 1/2 to almost a second
reduction in quarter-mile times. Also, 700r4/4e60 trans only
receive full line pressure in 4th gear when the converter is
locked. This converter can be locked in 4th (or any gear) at
full power and not burn up.
Converter is 2 years old (Jan 2004) and was setup to stall
at 2900rpm for a built 350cid motor. It stalled around 3100-3200
on my 450hp 350-motor (11.9 @ 115). It stalled around 3400 on
my 383cid motor (11.7@117), and recently 4000 on my 427cid
motor (11.3 @120) . I can check with PI to see if I can still get the Free Restall on the Converter if anyone is interested but not able
to use the current stall.
Always ran with Mobil1 ATF.
$600 + S/H
I'm doing a T56 swap and selling the converter and trans is already sold

BTW i'm in Annapolis
and has served me well. (vette servo, all new internals with
hardened shafts, kevlar bands, firm/hard shifting valve body)
I've agreed in principle to swap the trans straightup for a
local T56 swap "kit", though he has a stock clutch and no boot/plate.
(I'm selling the Vig to buy a Mclod clutch.. ;-)
If that deal falls through, I'll give you a ring...
thanks

if i decide to come off my setup it would be for a built 700R4 like yours whole setup for my C4 Vette. i already have on built to identical specs or close to it as what you have for my 82 Z/28. the 85 TA is the parts car. 388 stroker going in Z and 406 going in C4 Vette. my Vette is an A4 700R4.
or a set of well built aluminum heads

60' time and ET substantially, up to a half second,
by putting and keeping the engine up in the powerband
rpms..
You can get even better ET/MPH if you lockup the converter
in 2nd gear since you now have a direct drive through
the converter and the 5-disc kevlar TCC can handle the
power lockups..
TCC Dyno test
Here's a link of my recent dyno with the TCC unlocked,
then again with it locked.. Almost 50 rwhp..

How do you lockup the converter in 2nd gear, a 12v switch? I am sure that is why loose converters don't show the true RWHP on a chassis dyno a engine is putting out when compred to what the car will actually run down the track at. Slippage in the converter won't show the true output of the engine. I assume there is no slippage with your converter once it is locked up?

specific MPH, or you can 12v switch the TCC thru the
ALDL port also. You benefit from the stall and the
TQ multiplication of the conv at launch, then you
direct lock the TCC in higher gears to eliminate converter
in-efficiency. (GN folks used to do the TCC lock all the
time, and their stock TCC would last a few dozen races..)

Yes I am interested. I have probably spent 2500.00 in the last week on a etec 200 headed 406 I am putting together. The rainy day fund is getting a litlle low for another 600.00 this time of year. Definately sounds like a nice piece, I would love to buy it.

I'd be interested on the stall if we can make sure it's a 4000 stall I am getting.

motor it's behind.
http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28...no/dyno051125/
is a link to my dyno when it stalled to 4000rpms. If your
motor would put down similar numbers, it would stall the
same.
