Installation Question... Where does the orange wire go?
I'm gonna install my new cd player tomorrow. (By the way I ended up getting the Pinoeer DEH6200 ) There is an orange wire that says "lighting switch terminal". Where does it go in the car? I have 2 wires inside the car. One is brown for illumunation and the other is gray for dimmer. I assume it goes to one of them. But which ?

I just installed my CD player (Clarion) last week and I just wired those up and did not connect them to anything, I did the same for the one that goes to my power anntenna.

It goes to your brown illumination switch. When you turn on your lights, it turns on additional lights on the deck, and on some decks, the dimming function kicks in since you are telling the deck it is dark outside. On my past Pioneers, I liked ALL the illumination to ALWAYS be on when the deck was on, so I wired it with the remote wire (used to be blue).

If you want your radio to stay at full brightness all the time, don't hook the orange Pioneer wire to anything.
If you do want the radio to dim down when your headlights are on at night...I think you'd hook it to the brown illumination wire...but try each wire to see if one gives you a better result.
As always, cap or tape any wires that you decide not to use. And I sure hope you're using a wiring harness adapter and not just cutting up your car's wires.
